ok to start, gabbert is better than daniel and brad smith. he looks like an nfl qb. this program is going in the right direction. second NU has a crazy history with those years of the blackshirts D. this james franklin may be good but its blaine gabberts team now and hes about to make us all forget about chase. im tellin you now this kid is good and knows how to win. Gabbert looks raw so far
I agree. Gabbert is going to shatter our memories of Chase. He was doing great until he got hurt. Mizzou is rebuilding this year look out Big 2010 is gonna be Mizzous year
yeah i remember researching him when they recruited him and thought damn this kid is gonna be good. i think he will make somewhat of a minicomeback now that we are into the softer part of the schedule, but yeah next year i expect big things with reesing mccoy and bradford all leaving.
@mizzouman5412 hes a better throwing nfl qb than those two but neither are as good as brad smith. smith had nothing to work with his whole career and carried the program to be relevant enough to recruit the guys we have now.
@KnowledgeAccumulated true. chase daniel had alot to do with it as well. i mean he brought in gabbert and we will have him for two good years then to pass it pff to james franklin who sounds like a complete stud.
@mizzouman5412 im not sure if franklin is gonna be the guy. he seems like a good player but tyler gabbert (blaine's brother) is in the same class & he might be the guy. im wondering if franklin has the athleticism to play wide out. i love seeing former qbs out wide becuz theyre very savvy route runners & just know how to get open.
yes it was stupid to burn Gabberts redshirt I will agree with that, but in case you ignorant NU fans haven't heard James Franklin, a dual-threat QB ranked four stars according to rivals, is coming to town next year, Columbia that is
As a Husker fan this is one of my favorite videos on youtube. In one play it shows the idiocy of your coaching staff and program. You burned this kids redshirt year on a couple of meaningless passes and because of his pro potential you could easily be waiving goodbye to him in 2 years (plus this year already looks like a rebuilding year). Its hard to be a program changer in 2 years.
As a Mizzou fan, this is one of my favorite comments on YouTube. In five lines, it shows how stupid Nebraska Cornhuskers fans are. Gabbert could of been redshirted in 2008, but he could leave at the same time even if he wasn't redshirted. Redshirt sophomores can declare for the NFL Draft. Haven't you heard of Jeremy Maclin? He has burned Nebraska the past couple of years.
I understand that. However, how many redshirt Sophomores do you see bolting for the NFL? Not very many. For some reason more Juniors leave then redshirt Sophomores. I do believe that Gabbert is a very good NFL prospect and my point was that you might only have him for 2 years. Plus, considering that you just kicked off your best backup QB, you might have some trouble once Gabbert leaves. Either way that comment in no way makes me stupid. I think that is the difference between our two fan
I think we will be in very good hands once Gabbert leaves, either next year or the year after. Like murphturph said, James Franklin is coming to town. Next Brad Smith in my mind. Mizzou's recruiting will probably get better and better as we get better. We'll start getting multiple 5 Star prospects. Mizzou will be up there with OU and Texas for a while.
bases; Nebraska fans are willing to have intelligent conversations, while Missouri fans would rather just hurl insults. I think you guys are building a good program. I just wish that you and the rest of your fans would grow up a little. You aren't Oklahoma or Nebraska yet, and you need to understand that. That being said, you have a lot to be proud of. Just be more gracious about it.
Let me clarify, I have no problem with you insulting the Nebraska program. I insulted your coaching staff and I would expect you to do the same. But I'm not going to call you or all Missouri fans idiots based on a youtube post. Thats not very classy or intelligent.
It definitely is not classy or intelligent. Although I do get tired of Nebraska fans comment about their five National Titles. Most of them probably were two or three years old, still defecating in their diapers. I also get tired of Mizzou fans talking about the 1960 season and how we would of won the National Title if Kansas hadn't cheated. What every fan needs to do is burn the bridges to past years and just think about this year.
Part of sports is relishing the history. Nebraska just happens to have more of that than Missouri. Im not sold on Franklin, but I do think that Missouri and Nebraska will be the class of the North for many years to come. I don't think either will consistently bring in the talent of Texas and OU, but we both will have years where we can make a run. It is my opinion that Nebraska will have more of those years. Im sure you feel the same way about Missouri.
My point is that all fans are going to have their reasons why they think their program is superior. Nebraska fans cherish the memories of the past beacuse they are part of what make the program special, just like Missouri fans will talk about Chase Daniel years from now if your program continues with the success you are having. Its good to cherish memories and once Missouri starts developing more of those I think you will start to understand that.
I agree. You can recount history, but just don't start talking trash about it. Especially if you didn't even have a heartbeat when it took place. I sure as hell hope that I can recount to my children and grandchildren the time Blaine Gabbert or James Franklin led the Tigers to the National Title game and showed USC or Florida the the Big 12 is for real and hear to stay.
Poor mad baby. Still crying over Gabbert telling the sorry ass Huskers to take their scholarship for their crappy football team and stick it up their asses huh?
They "got" Green? More like they went after Green after Gabbert changed his mind. Gotta love how you Husker fans went ape shit over the kid when he was commited to Nebraska. Then, when he changed his mind suddenly you'd rather have a 4 star kid like Green over the number two rated quarterback in the whole country.
Yea i take CODY GREEN cuase he can run and pass run pass option QB n ive seen things dat make me say dam dis kid is good cant wait for the years he will be starten o wait it may b next year LOL
Gabbert rushed for somewhere around 300 yards even with a bad leg that held him down for about 4 or 5 games including almost 100 yesterday. I don't think Green has the upperhand there. In fact, from what I saw this season, your boy Zac Lee looked like he could run better than Green.
It was Gabbert's first year starting. With a bad leg so spare me. Furthermore, you are full of shit. Green appeared in 7 games and rushed for 135 yards. Most of which was in the non-conference schedule against bad FCS opponents. Not a good idea to lie when the kid's stats are only a few keystrokes away. Dismissed!!
u on drugs i just looked at the stadings 317 rusing. N i think he has a better arm than zac lee have u seen his arm dam he can throw. In dat texas tech game dam all his passes where amzing sept for 1. AND WHO IS GOIN TO THE BIG 12 CHAPIOSHIP GAME.
Didn't you guys damn near get your asses kicked by San Jose State last year? Wow!!! We had our back ups in by the beginning of the second half against non con teams and your starters are still out there fighting for their lives. Amazing. Then again, we did pound your beloved Huskers into the grouhd on your own home field where you're supposed to be unbeatable. Pretty sad state of affairs in Lincoln when we're sitting our starters on the bench before the end of the third quarter.
The Freshman receiver Jerrell Jackson who caught that pass is gonna do big things for Missouri once he develops and gets used to playing College Football.
Hopefully he can do something with the jags..we sure as hell need him
