This is AWESOME! I recorded this tune with Wayne and the great band Southern Blend back in the early '90s. What a great loss to Bluegrass and a great loss as a friend. I spent about 3 years playing bass behind Wayne and Ricky on the road. I miss Wayne greatly.
Wayne taught me to play the guitar when we were kids. I didn't see him much after he moved to Lexington. Believe it or not we played rock n roll then. I've had guitars and a banjo for years but could never make them sing like Wayne could. I miss him.
Wayne Fields was a great guy and will be missed by so many. I've knew Wayne when he lived in Maces Creek and we used to sing on the front porch songs like "Let Those Brown Eyes Smile At Me" and so many more. Those sounds would echo through the mountains and leave an imprint on your heart that would remain there forever. I didn't know he married such a talented lady. His sons are awesome too. Just keep on making this beautiful music keeping his memories alive. Kaye Davidson
