I always imagined that in the beggining the song has three parts...

1. At the smooth flowing chime is the Traveler scaling the Tower with majesty and grace never missing a beat...

2. The scaling beat in that starts at the same time as the chime, the Tower itself providing obstacles and challenges, always reasonable and fair...

3. At 0:07 The Tower's god begins to create The Book of Laws, at first seeming reasonable, but as the Traveler climbs even higher, the challenges become more senseless

Years of wandering the earth had left the traveler's head swollen like a grapefruit, bulging with the accumulation of knowledge and experience. All that was left was the Tower he had so purposefully avoided.

He could not stop. He could not turn back. He knew not what was at the top, or whether he could ever return.

Was he despairing of life? Was he going insane? The Tower's god, for one, never ceased its crazed babbling. All it needed was an excuse to burst that massive head asunder...
