Another kind of cool easter egg, not sure if it was brought up since I haven't really lurked communities: If your health is low and the red ants are attacking your nest and both you and your attacker are inside, they will sometimes feed you before fighting, lol.
Continued: To get a spare black queen seemed to be a matter of luck. If you got the first half of the queen inside the black nest, exchange to it and then you'd be the 2nd queen. Exchange to a worker, and the queen stays and lays eggs. I can't remember, but I think the rear half queen also laid eggs but they may or may not have hatched.
Oh and if you did the opposite, taking a black egg to the red nest, it disappeared if dropped.
Oh yeah I remember doing something like this, except I took the foreign egg all the way into the black nest.It did pretty much the same thing inside, except instead of having a gray box, it was magenta and it would dart its way outside, killing anything that got in its way. (the behavior box would label it "weird egg".) Also dragging the egg into the nest allowed me to exchange into those "hatching" workers.

If you held down a certain key (can't remember without checking) when exchanging, you could exchange into a red ant. As a red ant, the red ants feed you and don't attack you. The black ants become enemies. Playing as a red ant isn't the same. You still lose if the black queen dies. Also if you exchanged cross species, the ant you exchanged from becomes the same as the one you switched to. Black queen becomes red if you were the queen, for instance.
I tested the game again. it's Shift+ alt after hitting x, click a red ant and there you go. That ant will become the yellow ant. But if you die you get reborn in the black nest as a black ant and also if you recruit, you recruit black ants... Go figure.
