I agree with intermixer that the best recourse for the God-fearing people of Christchurch is to get out of this city as soon as possible. The judgement of God is truly upon it for openly mocking & blaspheming God. It is doomed. The young man who ran back into a building and died trying to save a woman he didn't know. The Police and Firefighters who risked their lives for us. It is no coincidence that Christchurch got devasted by multiple eathquakes. This city which bears the name of Christ the Saviour has no reverence for God. One question I have is, do the people of Christchurch have a disaster plan in place? It seems like an awful lot of earthquakes happen in that region. It also seems that everytime Japan has an earthquake, Christchurch has one a day later and they are pretty big. Also, being that the earthquakes are happening just off shore, are there ever any Tsunami warnings?

Therefore there are always plans in effect ready to go in case of a disaster. Obviously life above all else is the most important issue regarding this horrific event however I think one of the issue soon to come out will be if this is a new earth quake or still an aftershock from the big one last year. Apparently that will make a huge difference when it comes to insurance claims. Has any one heard anything about this??

Buildings were weakened by the 7.1 earthquake last year and then the 4500 aftershocks we have been living with for the last 5 months. Our buildings withstood the 7.1. U shldn't have posted this so soon after it is hurtful right now

The young man who ran back into a building and died trying to save a woman he didn't know. The Police and Firefighters who risked their lives for us. It is no coincidence that Christchurch got devasted by multiple eathquakes. This city which bears the name of Christ the Saviour has no reverence for God. Their city councillors made a real wizard as it's official icon, who went around blaspheming Jesus in his sermons held in the city. He even was roped in to cast spells all over the city. Therefore there are always plans in effect ready to go in case of a disaster. While city councils like in Christchurch may have their own sub-plans it is central government in Wellington that takes control and makes the descisions. To be honest I can't see Christchurch ever recovering and I would not be suprised if its growth tapered off to other areas and centres. To be honest I think that the uncertain future of Christchurch will further reinforce the biased growth in the North Island around areas like Auckland (Commerical centre of NZ and largest city), Hamilton and Tauranga. But even in those centres there are risks...etc..around 52 known volcanoes in central Auckland. Many are extinct but some are dormant and volcanic field is still active. So we always plan for the worst and hope for the best.

@Tennessee44444 Yes there was a 7.1 earthquake near Christchurch last year which is why we had this earthquake (GNS class it as an aftershock) but before that the fault that caused the 7.1 had been inactive for about 1600 years! we didn't even know it existed. Buildings were weakened by the 7.1 earthquake last year and then the 4500 aftershocks we have been living with for the last 5 months. Our buildings withstood the 7.1. U shldn't have posted this so soon after it is hurtful right now

Remember if you want to help New Zealand Red cross is a great place to donate for me it was hard to see my fellow kiwi's suffer from afar and the fact that I can reach out with my wallet from all the way in the USA is great.

@jpatton1989 The verse is actually saying no man hath known, which is true. Man in himself does not know the day or hour. But that verse is not teaching that no man can know. God has unsealed the details of end times (God gave Daniel more information and instructed him to seal it up til the time of the end). @Lordismyportion Judgment Day is when Jesus Christ returns to to judge all the sinners on Earth. By this time, all that are saved will be gone. The church will be raptured 7 yrs BEFORE Judgment Day. This is because Judgment day takes place AFTER the 7 yr tribulation...and the rapture takes place before the trib. Also, the Bible says that ANYONE that claims to know the time of Christ's return is a false prophet. Prophesying these things is dangerous. You'll understand once 5-21-11 comes & passes

@jpatton1989 There will be no rapture and no judgement day. The bible is nothing more than bronze age mythology written by ignorant men in the middle east. It is historically inaccurate and unreliable and there is absolutely no credible evidence that any god exists let alone that christianity or the bible are true. Earthquakes happen because the earth is made of tectonic plates over a molten core it has nothing to do with any imaginary sky daddy. The people of NZ are strong and will recover.
