  • is this octopus compatable with a cat shark?

  • @DisturbedCrue If your shark eats shellfish- nope. You'll have a tank full of ink and a shark snack

  • @superpiglet222 Well it eats shrimp, so i guess thats a no lol

  • is caring for him difficult?

im thinking of getting one but im afraid that i am going to come home and find him under my bed or something lol.

  • @MorganBethhh Yeah, you have to have experience with a marine tank and have live food sources, ie..clams, crabs, etc....the ph has to be just right- you have to keep a clean tank with low nitrates and ammonia levels - yup, and an escape -free tank. So it's a challenge

  • i want 1

  • @octo666 hey octo666 u never answered my question :(..

  • not this one- the California OBimac is one of the better ones you can put in a fish tank. It may have spit ink once or twice when scared by me cleaning the tank- but the aquarium filters suck it out as it does solidify in the water.

  • does it squirt ink often

  • Nope - only if you scare the bejesus out of him :)

  • I've always said if I get a salt water tank the first thing I'm getting is an octopus

  • @octo666 hey when u get this message can u please tell me what size your octopus is if u know so i can know what size 2 look 4 i like yours alot

  • @octo666 hey nice octopus can u tell me what size it is? im tryin 2 buy one but they only got small ones 5 inches :(

  • It eats shellfish- so it never bothered the fishes....as long as you kept him fed :)

  • If it was bought at a store or rescued than i guess that is fine...But if you caught that thing than shame on you!

  • Does the octopus not kill the fish or the other way round?

  • thumbs up if u were just watching shark vids

  • It's only a 75 Gallon with a blue atinic bulb

  • Actually, they can eat fish- but prefer shellfish- I never had one death of any of my fish :)

  • LOL if your fish start to vanish then you know why. Octo's are best kept in a tank of there own.

  • Poor guy looks anxious, you at least should of clustered your rock in one spot for him. Cool octopus though.

  • ware can you bye one

  • @xboxdude12346

Are you like six years old? Who spells "where" w-a-r-e?

  • I want one!!!

  • Hahaahaah, Good thing it hasnt inked yet, i would be pretty freaked out to have to take it out of the water to clean the tank

  • u think i could put a shark with an octopus?

  • so how long did ur octo live?? and how hard was it to keep it filtration and escabability wise??

  • Cool!! l thought I had cool pets.

  • how do you filter your tank because i want a pet octopus but idk what filter to use

  • just the standard drop box filter- you can use carbon if you want, that won't hurt him- but no metals in the water, ie....copper, aluminum, or ammonia or nitrates- the water has to be prety metiulously clean with no impurities :)

  • how much money

  • Cool, where did you get it?

  • I am thinking about buying an octopus for the first time and i did research on them but it never really said what size of tank or lighting used. What did you do.

  • poor thing...give him something to hide in!!!!!

  • hahah i love how he sawm around 0:54 haha cute tank haha n wow its koo how he doesnt bother dah fish!

  • Where is a good place to buy a pet octopus?

  • is this octaous always active?

  • How do you keep it with fish I have a 90 gallon tank with tang and 3 large clown fish.

Could I keep one in there?

  • fucken sweet bro turn the fucken music down tho u stress ball

  • can you fit any species of octo in a 29 gallon biocube?

  • @Supe34 maybe a tiny baby one, but not for long. terrible idea. sorry, just looking out for the animals =]

  • @dickstadium you could fit a pygmy octo though,right?

  • that doesnt look like a happy cephlapod.

  • where can i get one of these?

  • you don't need one believe me>.

  • Where did you get it XD ?

  • r those feeder fish????? cas i thought octopus's were suppose to be in a tnk alone?

  • It doesn't like the christian rock music

  • I Would Be suprised if he didnt die soon, having the light on all day would cause stress to the octopus, and having other fish with the octopus is not a good Idea.

I have nothing against keeping octopus as pets, only the way you keep them bothers me.

  • Nice! I'm out here in Southern California and I see these guys all the time when I snorkel or go fishing at night time.. I'd love to keep one but it seems so expensive to set up a tank just for them

  • OMG! P.O.D <3

    exquisite taste in music ;)

  • that tank isnt suitable for an octopus, nowhere to hide, not enough filtration and other fish with it.

light on all day? madness! most octopus are nocturnal.

    i bet its dead now.....

  • @happyavacado bimacs octopuses are nocturnal

  • @happyavacado

That's what I was thinking...it looks like it's trying desperately to find a hiding place. Octopi are awesome, but they do like to hide a lot, which doesn't make them very cool pets because you can't look at them all the time like with pretty colorful fish or whatnot.

Hopefully it isn't dead though...live on, octopus!

  • @drago884 Actually some octopi even enjoy human interaction but yes they do like hiding places depending on the personality.

  • @happyavacado Well yes, as all but a select few species have a lifespan longer than a year.

  • kewl tank!, Kewl Octo!, what's it' name?

  • poor octupus... he look stress .. he just wanna go out. poor animal

  • how on eath is it poor, his tank is big enough, in the wild he would be doing the exact same thing ....also he would get eatin in the wild ...here he is safe.

  • w8 what kind of fish could an octopus be in the same tank with? i wana know because if i get one over a piranah i wana have like what you have but maby more exotic fish if its legal where i am...that and piranahs eat everything -.-

  • KEwleo

  • is that salt water

    ?

  • duh.........?

  • yes

  • @octo666 Hey dude, and he won't eat any other fish in there, say the clown fish?

  • @fighterfat11 of course its saltwater numty

  • i hear those things like to escape

  • yup, I had a friend that had goldfish in tank next door, and it used to go over to that tank as he'd find fish missing...

  • When did you octopus die? how old was he? How can they live? i was wondering as i am considering getting one, are they good pets?

  • How much? PLEASE REPLY!

  • usually fifty bucks, but then another 40 to ship depending on where you live

  • That's great, is it expensive to set up a tank for them?

  • depends what's expensive to you you can find a 75 gallon fish tank with all the fixins on craigs list for probably 300 bucks- that's cheap in my opinion, but then you got to buy salt for marine tanks, that's the most expensive thing 50buck every couple months.....oh, and live food for the octopus, you can buy cherrystone clams at the supermarket- they like those

  • hey i have a saltwater fishtank nd i havnt got enything in it yet so i was thinking about a squid or southern calamari because i live in perth western australia. i allso wouldnt mind a octopus or a cuttle fish nd i was just wondering is the normal octopus we get in perth the gloomy octopus? if so how long do they live for and how big do they get?

  • nice aquarium, i am impressed. i have always wanted a pet octopus.

a mate told me that some octopus are very territorial, and that if they get scared, or freaked out or some shit they will ink, and the hassle of cleaning the tank is not worth having it as a pet.

but this info was given to me by someone who has never even owned an occy. is any of it true? have u ever had this problem? cos i want to get a pet occy bad

    thanks.

  • u can mix them with fish?? Nice maroon clown btw.

  • yeah, you just got to leave the lights on 24 hours, to give them a chance, they really prefer to eat crustaceans or shellfish - not fish, unless you're starving them.....Chris B

  • looks to me like the octopus has just been put in the tank, he looks quite distressed. I would mix one with fish.

  • they are not afraid of fish- they are natural killers - see the video of octopus vs shark

  • Did you bury him in your garden?

  • nope....the old viking funeral.....down the toilet bowl :)

  • hey man i have a video and i go to upload it and i write everything and get everything done but it doesnt upload it just stays in my videos what do i do to get it to upload?

  • not sure- you may have to check drivers or upload settings on your computer

  • hey where do you buy an octupus and what gallon tank do they need?

  • no. Do not EVER put salt water fish/invertebrates into fresh water

  • that's a marine tank, hey

  • actually I'd leave the light on all the time and he never used to touch the marine fish- only crabs, clams, shrimp, etc...

  • thats reallystressful for a nocturnal animal....is he dead yet?

  • He's so cute! Cephalopods are so cool. It almost looked like he was moving to the music, too. LOL

  • actually that was his last day or two.......they only live about a year ::)

I've owned at least 8 of them over the last 4 years.....

  • that was an OBimac- california octopus- he was really kewl and active- he used to take food from my hands, was sorry to see him die- they only live about a year

  • A beautiful pet you have here!

I'm sorry for your loss, I wonder if Octopi is sold in the UK...

  • sure..........you can get the cold water ones, they are bigger but you got to keep the water chilled with a chiller. Also, you peeps have the cuttlefish- those are way cool.......Chris B

  • I didnt know you could put fish in your octopus tank i thought it would eat the fish. can you help me with info

  • yeah, just keep the lights on to give them a chance as the octo's are nocturnal

also, they actually prefer to eat crustaceans, clams, and crabs......

  • how long does it live im interested in getting one and what does it eat will it eat my snails and crabs and nemo

  • shellfish, snails, crustaceans - that's usually their diet

  • It's really sad that they have short-life spans - such interesting creatures. How smart is the California 2-spot? Has it ever tried to escape? Thanks for the vid!

  • you have to seal the top of the tank well, as they may escape - I 've heard stories, but never had one escape on me....

  • crabs and clams mostly, or whatever it wants :)

  • Uh, do you think it's wise to put small damsels in a tank with an octopus? has he eaten any of your fish?

  • yeah, damsels are only a couple of bucks a piece.....the octos prefer to eat clams, crabs, and crustaceans.....

  • What does it eats??

  • crabs, and clams.....mostly....

  • Wow I dont understand is why they cost so much money and have such short life span, I always thought they eat all the fish in the tank, I will get my salt water tank as soon as my freshwater red parrot fish dies its been alive 7 years, still waiting.

  • just get rid of the parrotfish.....:) octopus are way cooler....

  • does he eat your fish?

  • actually never seen one of my octos eat the fishies, they prefer crabs and clams and crustaceans

  • p.o.d. in the background :) awesome

  • how much do those cost?

  • like 50 bucks, but you have to have really meticulous water conditions, no copper, no ammonia, correct ph with frequent water changes.......fun but tricky, and they don't usually live more than one and a half years

  • 50-100 bucks

  • Comment removed

  • ha ha ha......yeah music kills everything, lol......you gooooooooof

  • looks to be far too active to have died naturally. i'm with chud.

  • damn sorry man that sucks yeah its very hard to keep water conditions up on that but good luck on those eggs man

  • ur octopus looks stressed man give him a place to hide those fishes make him nervous

  • actually, they are very short lived pets - he had a great cave to hide in, but this video was his last day, he died that evening :( very hard to keep perfect water conditions -but I was able to supply him with good food sources.......now I'm working on some blue ring eggs hatching......Chris

  • dude, lots of places to hide man this was the last day of his life, that's why he was tripping - they don't live long I've had over 10 - give be some credit bud
