They are greta movers and thinkers. I have a stud out of Sky Millenium (my dad's stud) down from Sky Hawk, from Sky Watch. If you know the bloodline you know what I mean. My fella Southern Sky, AKA LiL MAN, is a laid back stud. He's a lover not a fighter. He has some great foals to hit the ground. Alot of ACtion.
He was an amazing horse! my grandmother actully got to ride him cause she was great friends with his owner and my mom said she went out with him, haha! it's cool she actully got to ride him though and i think my horse charlie is related to him a little cause you can see it in his face al little and his body!
wonderful to see this footage. my 22 year old is his great great grandaughter. she passed away last month we owned her all of her life and my 2 year old filly is his great great great grandaughter both are national show horses 22 yr old has bask breeding and 2 year old is double padron bred
my filly is kin also she is a great great great grandaughter of him on her mom's side and padron double bred on her sire's side accent on magnum x magnum psyche x padron. she is magnificent and can she park trot naturally at age 2. Our other mare was 22 and died last month she was a great great grandaughter of wing commander and the other part arabian. we owned her 21 and a half years. We loved her dearly as well.
Absolutely wonderful. I saw him win his first World Championship in Chicago at age two. Loved him ever since. Wonder if anyone put his pedigree up on All Breed Pedigree Query? I'd love to see it.
ya hes on ped query thats how I gfound out about him I put my horse on there and i traced back to him using just her dams name she his my horses great granddaddy
Your mare certainly has some great relatives on both sides, as Bask was a great Arabian as both a show horse and sire. I hope the laminitis is not severe, and I'm sure you'll take good care of your friend.
she doesnt have laminits=) its just whenever my dad rides her (he weighs around 240) and he uses my bros western saddle(it weighs about 50 lbs)its nt good on an older horses jopints she will still jump and run till her heart content=)
She's going strond right now plz watch her video=) Im putting the only pic Ive got from her show career on(it was from her 1st season as a 3 yro)wweve upped her feed right now as winters are hard on older horses especially the 25 yro Morgan were taking care of he nearly collapsed when the farrier was trimming his forelegs and he wont gain anymore weight so he may not make it much longer everybody else is going strong though!! the other horse were taking care of=Al and my 3=Sky Pistol and Jetta
I'm glad to hear that she's doing well. They do take special handling when they put on the years. I bet you'll do a fine job with the lady -- and good luck with all your other horses.

Great job on finding all the images of The great "old man." Thanks also for including my head study in the group. I was very pleased and proud to see it in there. I'm actually working on a new picture of Wing at the rack that will be out as a limited edition print soon. By the way, he was born on April 23rd, 1943 and died on January 19th, 1969.
Thanks again for your lovely tribute to this wonderful and legendary hero of the American Saddlebred.
Thank you for your comment Mr. Walls when I found out that Copper Coins Commander was a son of Wing Commander(Copper Coins Commander is my horses grandsire on damline(Saddlebred line)I began to research Wing Commander and found I liked him of course not as much as I like *Bask++ (her grandsire on sire line) Right now we are dealing with what we think is laminitis with Sky so please put her in your prayers
Oh how i loved that horse!

The weight can certainly have an effect. Wing commander blood puts a lot of heart and courage into a horse, so I'm not surprised by her big motor.
