@airborne101st45 its rare that it happens if everthing was done right. personal i would get a old pc and try it on that for your frist time so if you missed something and it breaks its not going to cost 500 dollars to fine a new board or cpu or gpu.i recommend a old Pentium 3 based board for a beginner
the stock cooler on that gpu looks HUGE even in 2008 standards. and that place where they fit the rad had like 15 tiny holes. and that rad looks like it was meant to heat water not cool it.
Watercooling great but, when i did my watercooling on my AMD .there was too much air traped in the watercooling tank, and boom . I had to buy everything again!! so you must be very caarefull popele
@98Joshy Bleed your loop. If there's air trapped in your reservoir, you don't have to replace everything. In fact you don't need to replace anything. Just leave the system running with the reservoir cap opened so that the air will move outta the loop.

But i cannot do anything to keep it cold inside my pc i use frigration tubes (sorry for the spell) this video is just awesome but still dreaming for me :D
the tubing is far too thin, a decent pump will pull it flat, leaving you with decreased waterflow. Also, why are you using 2 different kinds of ram? Sticking with 1 brand might eliminate problems you might run into..
Its like buying a premade PC vs building your own.
You can choose the best possible parts for the best results. Most "all in 1" kits I have seen are good but not near as good as what others piece together.
Newegg is a good place to get stuff like that and see what people think of it before hand so you have a better idea of if your getting something that sucks or is a good deal
I know people fixate on watercooled PCs leaking, if it is engineered properly it should not happen EVER. Also apart from the power supply section the PC is mostly low voltage... I have had condensation trickling from a peltiered CPU and the motherboard still works to this day. Obvioulsy long term this would cause problems if not dealt with. The ONLY trouble I had with watercooling was the water needed anti fungal additives, it used to get murky pretty quickly.
It's also better to fill from the top (let air escape) and perform a test without the components in it. Otherwise you could pop a leak and destroy your stuff....
The "cooling elements" are really called water blocks.
TIPS: DO NOT BUY SETS. -This video is old: if you tried to hook up your Graphics card, northbridge, cpu and hard drive on a single resevoir and pump, you'll only kill your computer as it would heat up extremely rapidly. You can't even have the same resevoir for a single CPU and GPU and get good temps.
This vids old: don't expect your water cooling to look anything like this. Build your own period.
@zackcyboy it depends... becuase on the performance of the CPU an GPU if its a rather low performance GPU it wont produce the as much heat as a high performance... the same for the CPU
Good video! I just found one thing amusing which isn't actually funny but in this case it is :P
At the beginning when you introduce the different parts you say "It's actually very simple!" and then put a ton of items on the table. Cooling water, cooling elements, thermal paste, flow meter, cable, elbows, cable holders, header tank, heat exchanger, hard drive cooler (gosh, when does this list end?) and so on.
my only criticism on this build is that, while it may be quiet and look good, you simply will not get the performance out of that loop with only one heat exchanger. for my i7 and 4870 graphics card, i'm using one swiftech double 120mmm rad and a TFC xchanger (their awesome 5* product) wjich is twice as thick as the swiftech rad, so in effect, I gave 3 double 120mm rads cooling 2 componants, but the performance is unreal.
all I really NEED is just CPU cooler, Mine is ungodly loud, Its bad, so bad I can hear it at night screaming away at almost 6,000 rpm from the bedroom which is 25 feet from my office. But honestly i don't want to spend around 100$ or more just to cool a chip....so looks like I'm stuck.
just buy a CPU cooler that's quiet they are cheap, quiet and require no maintenance. However, they perform badly and can be loud (in which case you can get a speed regulator to make the fans quieter).
Looks like a Gigabyte K7 mobo, just like I had a while back. Lasted awhile, then blew some capacitors. Otherwise a good board back in 1999. Well done job btw!
nice vid and all.... but what most ppl are looking for is how to actually build one themselves without having to spend $800 on all the parts... like a homemade water cooler
i would probably use alcohol or some kind of solvent that is very fluid, this stuff will take heat away very efficiently, maybe even use glycol anti freeze....
If your merely complaining about noise, go buy a quieter fan. This is for advanced computer users only, who require extra cooling due to overclocking. No regular computer user should ever have this for a) No reason, your computer isn't running over 100 unless you know what your doing. B) YOU CAN BUY QUIETER FANS.

Its a 2.4Ghz processor and I had troble with it crashing so I had to bring it down to 2.2Ghz with 8% voltage There are no computer stores in this town. It's a tiny town. So if I wanted to buy a quieter I would either have to travel 2 hours (to Bend, Ontario, or Lakeview Oregon) just to get a quieter fan. Doesn't seem worth it does it?
And I have like 5 fans in the computer because it has a heating issue. I would want a liquid cooled pc because I can hear it in the living room sometimes when the door is shut. I THINK A LIQUID COOLED PC WOULD BE MORE EFFICIENT THAN 5 FANS RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME WHEN IT IS 98DEGREES INSIDE WHEN WE DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY A/C BECAUSE THE LANDLORD WON'T LET US BECAUSE SHE IS A BITCH!

generally if you are building a water cooled rig, the price shouldnt be an issue. if it is, stick to air cooling.
Different companies have different quality parts and having a good mix of parts from different companies is always good.
Koolance for instance make great GPU cooling solutions but their CPU solutions arent always as good.

Golonea 2 years ago
my only criticism on this build is that, while it may be quiet and look good, you simply will not get the performance out of that loop with only one heat exchanger. for my i7 and 4870 graphics card, i'm using one swiftech double 120mmm rad and a TFC xchanger (their awesome 5* product) wjich is twice as thick as the swiftech rad, so in effect, I gave 3 double 120mm rads cooling 2 componants, but the performance is unreal.
