It's great to see guitarists finally discovering just how well asian music sounds on the instrument. As a composer-guitarist myself I find I derive more inspiration from Chinese music than from any other ethnic style. It's also fascinating how similar it can sometimes sound to Irish music. Two such different cultures united by a common view of what is beautiful. One could easily wax philosophical about the universiality of human experience etc.

Ulli, not only do you play really great, but I reckon you are a nice guy too. You have certainly encouraged me to do better and not just accept OK guitar if you like. A friend of mine said to me (and he plays guitar) you will never reach the standard of Ulli at your age (56) and that maybe true but I want to try to at least to play some of your tunes.
