I love this. The art is awesome, possibly in marker, and it's on a blank which is always fun. It's by the original artist, signed, and although not playable or probably worth anything, it makes it priceless. I would never sell that thing.

Yes, I play tourney Vintage out here in Northern California. Feel free to check out some of my other vids if you are interested.

Not all players are hardcore Vintage players. That's ok. probably 95% of all Magic players don't deal with tourney level Vintage decks/metas. It's all good. I love whatever comments are made. Frankly, I'm supprized that this vid has so many viewers, even though when I took it, I knew many would be interested in seeing it.

A shop in Northern California (Who's On 1st?) has ties with Chris Rush (he lives in the area) and got him to draw it on some blank foils. Since the one in the video does not have a black border, I suspect now that the card might have been "acetoned" to make the foil card blank, then drawn on. But I have a foil blank card (called a filler card) that is "out of the pack" blank foil (with a black border). It is showcased in one of my other vids. (foil blank MTG card)

It's because of it's gigantic acceleration. Imagine the cards you could play in your fist turn...

In my opinion Ancestral Recall is better than a Black Lotus, but lots of people share the opinion that the Black Lotus is the best card because of the earlier mentioned mana acceleration.

when you're playing a speed kithkin deck, or speed white deck. or i guess speed any color deck. this card helps an ass load especially because it can be played for no mana. 3 mana is a lot for a speed deck. and its good if you can get this draw the first turn. but i sure dont think its worth as much as it is going for.

its rly easy to start combos with it.

4example combos with storm you just put it to play and u got storm 1, then you sacrifice it and play another card

and wihnout combos u can just play in 1st round cards with total manacost 4 then u have chance to win the game in 3rd round

try to play vintage format wihnout p9 then u have to agree with me that its rly hard

because you can have 3 mana on turn 1. it would take 3 turns to get three mana in a regular game. also if you have 3 dark rituals in your hand, thats 9 mana on turn 1. you could play a nice card on turn 1

Well yeah... if you could play the rituals without paying the manacosts...

Otherwise you end up with 7 mana, which which cost you 4 handcards...

With a black ritual you have 3 mana in turn one for 2 handcards.

With the lotus you get 4 mana for the same number of handcards.

Well, the actual card (or one of several like it at the table) have sold for several hundred dollars (say, #400).

I think I recall the owner of the card saying Chris Rush would do a proxy for about $200 at the time, but I could be wrong.

The artwork was re-commissioned for Black Lotus by Chris Rush, and was a painting, but not an actual Black Lotus card (or foil). They also did TimeTwister, Ruby and Pearl, I belive.

Chris Rush drew on a blank foil card. I'm investigating as to whether or not it is a "peeled foil". I recently got a black bordered foil card in a trade (see my other Foil vid). So it is someone else's selfmade card.

"Who's on First?" in Dublin had these bad boys (and the Chris Rush connection) and he values them at hundreds of dollars (Blank Foils are rare. I just got a non-foil blank from a local). You can probably contact "Who's on First" via internet but think $700ish or something crazy. (Haggling might work).
