  • I was shopping at Curry's in Nottingham city centre yesterday when I overheard a Chinese man asking a fellow shopper "How long does it take for a taxi to go to Lobin Hood airport ?" I just couldn't stop giggling, and the Chinese guy stared at me angrily. If you are the guy concerned, I offer my sincerest apologies.

  • Well the think is, back then Sherwood Forest was much larger and covered the area from South Yorkshire to the cemetry in modern day Nottingham city centre, so we all have a claim to him.

  • As a Notts person, I can't see the problem. Loxley is in S.Yorks! Robin had his stomping ground in Sherwood forest and the Dukeries, extending from S.Yorks to Nottm.

  • Neither Ling nor Coln shires

  • When Sean Bean and Big B Blessed unveil a statue there is nothing left to argue about.

  • There is also evidence that Robin Hood was "plying his trade" what is now the Loxley area of Sheffield.

The fact is that in the days that Robin Hood reputedly existed the "forest" extended from Nottingham considerably northwards, covering what is now Sheffield and the Doncaster area.

So in a sense everybodyis correct!!!

  • This is kind of funny all this fuss over an airport and Robin Hood. Wouldn't Sean Bean make a lovely ambassador as well.

  • hahahaha

  • Got to agree with pinkydot 123. Actually Sean was being very diplomatic! Thanks for Posting

  • Ya..i dont care just that this video has sean bean in it!!!

    lol :D

  • No people are more outraged about the naming of this airport than the people of Doncaster. It should have been Doncaster International, Douglas Bader international (as he was brought up in Donny), ST Leger international, or even just Finningley international (after the RAF base).

And anyway Robin Hood WAS from the Doncaster area (barnsdale). He just Stole from Nottingham. THIS IS TRUE - JUST SEARCH FOR ROBIN HOOD, OR BARNSDALE IN WIKIPEDIA. Or just ask a local scholar.

  • @admatt Should have been 'Jerermy Clarkson International' more like.
