XD M Disassembly and reassembly along with the HS 2000

I am RUSSIAN :) and love Croatian guns, my wife is Croatian! :) (just want to get that out there) On to the questions: I just picked up the 1st gen HS 2000 from my dad and it seems awesome, I love it! Can I use Springfield XD more than 10rd capacity magazines in this gun? if so, how do they fit? Thank you. Great Review and God Bless!

And the fired casing that came with both guns were quality checked by an Croatian. Well by two different Croatians their names are on the little paper bag that the casing comes in. Also all the new 1911 Springfield's say Made in Brazil on the frame because that's were the frames are currently made.

@zli1 you are right except that the XD and XDM line of the guns is made in Karlovac, Croatia by HS Produkt. That is why it says made in Croatia wright on the handle. If it would be made by Springfield Armoury it would say made in USA. That's the law here in USA. I own an XD-9 as well as XDM 3.8.

@fotozeus Yes the HS2000 in not a prototype, however it was before it came into production and has been labeled and marketed as a Springfield XD in the United States of America. Now it carries the name XD M

Croatian people have every right to be proud of such a fine pistol being one of their produkts.

@erieordnancejim I wouldn't be so sure about that...to me it looks like a ripp off of the glock 17...I don't realy like the HS PRODUKT rifle (VHS) neither...and I'm croatian...

@anteracmacash Rest assured it is better than a Glock 17 the HS200 offers many features not found on the Glock and has a more ergonomic grip angle , Metal Sights, Glock is plastic, Glock has changed their grips HS doesn't need to. They point very well. The HS 2000 has a reliable striker fired action and loaded chamber indicator that is visual and tactile, The striker protrudes when it is cocked and is a visual and tactile indicator as well. Not found on Glock . HS got this pistol correct.

@erieordnancejim glad to hear that...but the rifle they made is TERRIBLE !!!

It has a direct impigment gas system which makes it unreliable, made out of cheap plastic parts that don't seem to fit together all too well (kind of like on toysRus), leftys get a face full of empty cartridges and it costs more then the competing H&K assault rifles...

@erieordnancejim Funny how mostly Croatians bitch about HS2000/Springfield XD while pretty much every American who owns it practically has no complaints whatsoever. Our people should be proud that we have at lesat one quality product that is exported and has been recognized and praised in a country such as the USA. I'm getting one as soon as I'm off the college and start earning some money.

XDM is the version of HS2000 developed for US market, it can be bought in Croatia also under the name ''HS2000 for US market''. HS on Croatian means Hrvatski Samokres (Croatian Pistol). All the versions of XD are developed under the HS Produkt company, and later implemented in the production line of Springfield Armory. You should check out the new assault rifle produced bz HS Produkt.

HS2000 is not a prototype, it is a full used pistol... and SAXD is the same thing, XD is the licensed production of HS2000 in Springfield Armory sold in US as a contract and agreement of Croatian production company HS Produkt and Springfield Armory, so the HS Product could fulfilled the needs and requirement of the US law enforcement agencies and government agencies. HS Product does not have such capacity in Croatia, so they are manufactured in Springfield Armory.

Does the old 10 round Mag fit into the XD?

We have a 10 round limit in Australia :-(

Does the barrel in the old HS2000 hinge up when the slide is cocked like the XD? and why is this?

The old XD and HS magazines are interchangable however neither fit into the XDM. The Barrels on all of the HS and XD series are all of a tipping design that enhances feeding and unlocking from battery.

Im buying a HS2000 soon...It may not be up to scratch with the XD but it still an amazing gun for the money...I love it

xd is not available here in the philippines but hs is.
