Personally, as a Disney fanatic, and a publically admitting one too, I really have nothing bad to say at all about Warren Spector's current direction for the game. He's really understanding the human, emotional quality that made Mickey so great in the first place. Also, he's making the sense of fear and fright that was in the Disney classics very consistent. Every great Disney film has a dark side. Epic Mickey seems to have firmly grasped it.

Leave it to Disney to screw up a perfectly good video with a huge "follow us" box. It simultaneously shows their lack of design sense and lack of Web 2.0 etiquette.

@impurekind The newer Mickey design would seem out of place in this world. Much of the forgotten characters and designs from Mickey's cartoons are in the older style much like Oswald is. Modern Mickey with classic style characters around him would seem off. Plus I think the classic style works best for the emotions in this game. In fact Epic Mickey has helped me love the classic style more than the newer style.

It's frustrating to hear them talking about very standard gameplay/design challenges and terrible in-game animation as if its the most amazing thing in the world. I had really high hopes for this game when I saw the initial concept art but I am not at all impressed with what they have so far. Sorry for the harsh critique but it still needs more work guys!

@willchristiansen Errr... Well your obviously VERY critical and not at all a Disney fan, just a critical gamer. So let me be the first to say: Disney fans, along with regular everyday gamers, will love this. The animation is NOT bad, but your entitled to your opinion... So just don't buy the game :)

@willchristiansen I may sort of agree about the gameplay, from what I've seen it looks like just platforming like it is with lots of games. However, I'm sure there will be more twists and such than just that. But come on, "terrible" animation? I'm really hoping you're not one of those guys who expects hyper-realism like in Xbox shooters. This animation is just great for a 1930's-style Mickey Wii game.

It's all of a sudden so difficult to tell where his eyes are. I always thought the little black dots were his eyes, but this makes it seem like the ENTIRE white space around them are his actual eyes while they're his pupils...
