You look at their eyes. If you see a cute guy, watch their eyes to see if they follow the guy. If they do, and the eyes have a somewhat look of longing. Then he is GAY. However, if he does not, then he is most likely straight.
This is the method I have used, and so far, it's worked for me.

If you are confident then it shows and other people are drawn to your confidence, even if you aren't that physically attractive. I have seen it over and over where a guy is not exactly model material but has confidence in himself and is relaxed and personable. He has cute guys falling all over him. Same thing happens in the straight world.
In that situation you give the guy a scenario of events that don't implicate you that are of gay nature and note his reaction good or bad and proceed accordingly. dah
I personally think that having 'gaydar' is just knowing how to read body language/social situations. I'm gay but I get LOADS of girls hitting on me/checking me out and not a lot of guys. I'm not very good at working out if a guy is gay to be honest. Its more confusing thanks to guys like David Beckham its OK for straight guys to be into grooming, fashion and the arts, traits that which were associated with gay guys.

I wouldn't say you look gay - neither is the hair - u just care about how you look. I totally see the problem because you can't always tell! Some people are obvious, yes, but others are the total opposite of what you expect a homosexual man to be. I should say I'm female -but I think the only thing you can really do is drop hints that you are gay yourself when you're talking to someone you feel you may have a connection with - if they are gay too they'd be more likely to pick up on the hints! ;)
I think it's more fun when you can't tell if someone is gay or they totally surprise you (like an acquaintance from high school I saw 10 years later who came over and hung out). But one good piece of advice: it may be convenient, but you get an extremely limited view of who all is out there and gay from just gay bars. You only get a certain type there, and not always the type you'd prefer.

When I'm actually looking and wanting to put myself out there as gay, I wear my wristband. It has the upside down rainbow triangle pride symbol. Before that I had my rainbow heart wristband. I wore the latter at the mall once and I was standing outside Hot Topic and this girl came up and her wristband said "gay" and we were actually checking each other out and she moved over next to me right before my mom and granny started leaving.
One way to attract guys is is by telling people (straight, bi, gay) you are gay. Then people who also do not have gaydar will tell you that they are gay or even ask you out. Just make sure that your social setting for telling people is safe or gay positive. If you not an internet, bar or bathhouse guy volunteer for an organization that has a lot of gay people like a help line for gay men, pride parade or join a gay softball or sports team.
It does help if you look gay, even if it's not completely obvious. I'm not an obvious lesbian, but if you're not a complete idiot, you can tell pretty easily; I usually can tell, especially with women, if someone is gay depending on whether or not I feel that sort of sexual chemistry - even if I'm not really interested in them.

Aah, easy dilemma to solve. You just need a little devil may care chutzpah stuff and ask the right questions.
Which are; 'So you got a girlfriend?' If they say yes, they're not gay, and even if they're bi, they're take then. If they say NO, you can ask something like 'Not much luck with women?' If they respond affirmatively, again probably not gay. If they ARE gay they might say they are at this point if they didn't already.
And if you still got nothing, ask if they have a boyfriend.
Attitude is important with this mind you. You gotta ask it in the vein of buddies. So that if something could be perceived to be an insult, it should sound, if taken negatively, as a playful ribbing and not as an insult. It really shouldn't be an insult in the first place, but you know how society is.
Of course you can get questions back, but how you deal with that's up to you. Self-confidence works though, it's magnetic, even if people don't want to DO you they prob. LIKE you.

Soo many people associate physical traits with sexuality. I've come to the realization that as a community we are very diverse. I wouldn't say you look gay - neither is the hair - u just care about how you look. I totally see the problem because you can't always tell! Some people are obvious, yes, but others are the total opposite of what you expect a homosexual man to be. I should say I'm female -but I think the only thing you can really do is drop hints that you are gay yourself when you're talking to someone you feel you may have a connection with - if they are gay too they'd be more likely to pick up on the hints! ;)

I think it's more fun when you can't tell if someone is gay or they totally surprise you (like an acquaintance from high school I saw 10 years later who came over and hung out). But one good piece of advice: it may be convenient, but you get an extremely limited view of who all is out there and gay from just gay bars. You only get a certain type there, and not always the type you'd prefer.
It's waaaaaaaaay hot here in Phoenix, often still 100º at 10 PM (thank God summer is almost over)!

When I was a young boy, I was very active in swimming and diving, often at the Pools in my area,, I have many memories of gay men coming on to me and my friends in the change rooms,, they would try to engage us in conversation and talk about their penis's and ask to see ours exct... I'm so bad with gaydar...I had a person talk to me while I was having my car fixed. He brought up the movie Rent (which I personally do not care for) about 3-5 times. I would assume that would have been a gaydar moment, however, being as ignorant as I am, I only realized it the next day. fml.

I find the whole phase of trying to find out if a guy that I'm interested is gay or not, to be extremely frustrating and a massive use of my effort, and usually ends up in them not being gay at all. I seem to have issues with gay clubs cuz all the guys there are just the stereotype. Girly (i'm not gay to get with some pseudo girl) or a huge bulky guy that's a decade older than me in a singlet or something. Not my kinda thing...

I actually have a pretty good Gaydar. I can even pick out closet cases (freaking hate being with them though, complete pain in my ass). Thing is, you have to be confident, hit on him lightly if you like him and if you don't see signs of him hitting back then try just being friends and in due time you'll find each other's sexuality anyways. For me I just go heavy and chase after a guy if I like him. Eye contact + smiling = score

As you get older these things tend to become easier you get know who's really gay, I used to work at Starbucks too and when you work there you always get a bunch of hot gays and you hope that because they are they might be gay. I went to a gay bar and met my boyfriend there, we are very different but its awesome, we've been together now 2 years, and people are shocked we met in a bar and are doing fine. When I'm actually looking and wanting to put myself out there as gay, I wear my wristband. It has the upside down rainbow triangle pride symbol. Before that I had my rainbow heart wristband. I wore the latter at the mall once and I was standing outside Hot Topic and this girl came up and her wristband said "gay" and we were actually checking each other out and she moved over next to me right before my mom and granny started leaving.

One way to attract guys is is by telling people (straight, bi, gay) you are gay. Then people who also do not have gaydar will tell you that they are gay or even ask you out. Just make sure that your social setting for telling people is safe or gay positive. If you not an internet, bar or bathhouse guy volunteer for an organization that has a lot of gay people like a help line for gay men, pride parade or join a gay softball or sports team.

It does help if you look gay, even if it's not completely obvious. I'm not an obvious lesbian, but if you're not a complete idiot, you can tell pretty easily; I usually can tell, especially with women, if someone is gay depending on whether or not I feel that sort of sexual chemistry - even if I'm not really interested in them.

Sounds like me and this guy from Uni. Most fucking beautiful guy I had ever seen; got really depressed because I thought he was straight and that I failed (yet again!), but he came out to me as bi (which is attractive as hell because I am too).
I sort of thought he was, though, because I have this weird intuition and can often tell by small mannerisms (not really stereotypes, very hard to explain).

(well it works well for lesbians, but that does me no good) This reminds me of a story, when I was having coffee in Phoenix with a friend once, a guy came up to me and wanted to sell me a carwash package, I wasn't interested, then he goes "can I ask, are you gay?" Even going to the gay bar's and gay clubs here you still can't tell. 75% of the guys there are straight. They'll fit in the stereo types of gay that you point out in the video. They'll even have on pride jewelry and other pride stuff. Their reason for it is their showing that their OK with the gay life style by doing that.

Aah, easy dilemma to solve. You just need a little devil may care chutzpah stuff and ask the right questions.
Which are; 'So you got a girlfriend?' If they say yes, they're not gay, and even if they're bi, they're take then. If they say NO, you can ask something like 'Not much luck with women?' If they respond affirmatively, again probably not gay. If they ARE gay they might say they are at this point if they didn't already.
And if you still got nothing, ask if they have a boyfriend.

Attitude is important with this mind you. You gotta ask it in the vein of buddies. So that if something could be perceived to be an insult, it should sound, if taken negatively, as a playful ribbing and not as an insult. It really shouldn't be an insult in the first place, but you know how society is.
Of course you can get questions back, but how you deal with that's up to you. Self-confidence works though, it's magnetic, even if people don't want to DO you they prob. LIKE you.

1 - Come out so you can talk about things as you truly want to, so you can get closer to people and perhaps find it easier to find a partner.
2 - Coming out can be really hard, what with the level of homophobia and stereotypes still present.
I haven't come out as bi to my family yet (I will when I'm with a guy and want to introduce him), though I haven't really made any effort to seem straight, I'll comment about a hot guy.

Soo many people associate physical traits with sexuality. I've come to the realization that as a community we are very diverse. I single out the gay community because that is what we are talking about. Anyways, that's why it is so hard to meet gay guys outside of a gay bar. You don't want to ask a guy if he is gay when you first meet because it is awkward.
