relic is a term use to describe a guitar that was intentionally made to look aged. typically fender custom shop guitars are relics. it doesn't mean it is really old, it just means he bought it to look old.

hm... that first lick... im having trouble figureing out why it works. that bend that you do at the end of the first lick. could you tell me where you got the backing track cause id like to try that bend out it just doesnt sound right with a standard blues progression.

Blues in general shouldn't work from a music theory perspective. Most of it revolves around playing minor notes over major and dominant chords. This shouldn't work but blues musicians make it work by tweaking notes which add that distinctive bluesey/soul feel.

That first bend is the 6th (A) bent up to the dominant 7 of the C chord in the backing (Bb) but it sounds a little wrong because it's slightly flat -- it never quite reaches the Bb. Albert King was amazing at this.
