Yes..I do understand,. After I posted my comment on youtube, i asked you on facebook about the difference and advantages of the kingpost vs the topless
Heiney flies kingposted gliders out of brand loyalty to a company he has investment in,. and because he's old and frail, and can't lift and carry a topless glider that weighs 10 pounds more than the pre-dater. Put the pre-dater and a modern topless aerobatic routine side by side and see a huge difference in amplitude, the topless gliders are way faster, and in some cases, handle better, and have better roll rate at speed. John's never won an aerobatic competition against me on a topless.
its not even a backflip as you say, (duh) he just about came back from the top of the loop but "luckily" the glider snaped forward (tightest loop I have ever seen) and he made it..........
@Hankxc Do you know what you are talking about? He only did one tumble at zero airspeed. Are you saying that certification standards are lower than before? That was not a very scientific evaluation of the incident.
I can't work it out, does it tail slide or go over forward?

Very Lucky Pilot.....Would a topless recover like that???

@mikehoppett
depends who you ask. I think there is reason John Heiney likes to fly kingposted gliders.. ;-)
topless gliders are very stable as long as they are not detuned for performance.

Sure wasn't planned, that was not enough speed to complete his manuver, and just a very lucky pilot.

Moyes doesnt build them this strong anymore, no body does.. they were heavy but strong.. Could a lightspeed to that Gerof?

This is NOT a stunt! It is tumbling and is a pilot error that can break the glider.
