I don't think having fun should always involve the risk of a whiplash! From what I hear, the coaster is still great anyways. So what's the point of putting it back in?
They realised that the force on riders during the heartline roll may be too great, so they replaced it with a straight section. They should hav made it a barrel roll or zero-g roll or one of those rolls where the train rolls while the centre of the riders' body stays at the same height.
im not sure how many negative g's it pulled, but i do know it pulled nearly 7 g's !!! they had to replace it cos alot of people would have blacked out !! plus it kind of damaged the trains in a way. it was too much friction for the trains and wheels, which obviously causes problems. maverick is still the best ride !!! but maybe they could have put a neat airtime hill there instead ?? i wonder how many g's the entire ride pulls ?? kingda ka does 4....not sure about TTD
are you sure? because even with just the normal change of direction whe i went on it it was intense. i couldnt imagine what it would have felt like to heartroll through that
i definetly remember them saying they'd have to replace trains too often becuase of the stress and extreme force the heartline roll did to the trains, but im very sure it was also because of too high g-forces. either way, they had to take it out
I dont understand how there can be rollbacks when there are launch pad things going all the way up the hill. And if theres a rollback do you get to go again?
no your wrong, my brother told me and he is like the god of ceader point, hes always like lets go to ceader point please? He rides everysingle ride like two times in one day! or more like 1 minute!

They had to remake that part because their water dummie's head chopped off so they had to make a new part, thats what you call a headchopper, I HAVE RODE IT 3 TIMES! I LOVE YOU CEADER POINT!
no, u are really wrong. It was just simply to intense, and it was too intense, it could be breaking laws, or people just wont enjoy the ride much, so they got rid of it.
wrong twice. tennisRocks08 is technically right because the heartline roll did pull 7 g's. thats why they replaced it. and the world record of highest g-force on a roller coaster is 6.3. its called tower of tower, its in johannesburg
the track was putting too much stress on the trains so if they would have kept it there cedar point would have had to replace 6 trains every 5 years. which would be very costly.
They should've just kept it in, the designers knew exactly how much stress that section caused on the train and track, and Cedar Point signed off on it. Them taking it out lessens the intensity of the ride.
The ride already hurts your neck because of the sudden twists and inversions. This is just after the launch tunnel and would probably hurt even more. When the trains and track were registering high levels of stress, they knew it was a problem that could potentially injure people. Stuff like that doesn't always come out in computer models.
@oppinoy you wanna get whip lash ... go watch the other vids of it ... it tore the wheels up ... if they kept it they would have to replace the wheels much more than needed
it had no g-forces at all on the people themselves (that's what a heartline roll does). It was train going through the big curve. I think the stress on the track was like 5 gs or something.
hey have any of you noticed something about CP over the last 10 yrs? A pattern; follow me here. First, Power Tower 240 ft thrill ride designed to launch you up or you can get pushed down, so the people liked that. Next MF, 318 ft. giga-coaster. Then a few years later Wicked twister a lauched coaster using Lims, after that TTD, 420 ft. hydraulic lacuched coaster over 122mph. This year Maverick a lauched coaster as the chain lift. See the pattern.
That is def NOT a heart line, heart line rolls are saposed to be centered around your heart, giving you almost 0gs but that if you look in someones vid "Maverick's (defunct) heart line Roll", you can clearly see its more like a heel line roll, as the car rotates too much around the track. I personally am a rail junky, been going to parks every year before i was 10. I wouldn't want to ride that part, It looks like the train is swinging around the track :P
im happy thay took out the hartroll it was going to fast and it was knocking people out thats y thay thay had to tack it out but we allways have raptors hartline roll/twist

why did they replace it?
carolinebernardo34 1 year ago
@carolinebernardo34 to much ware on the wheels was causing many wheels to burn up and they would have to replace the wheels constantly
porky484 1 year ago
@porky484 are you fucking retarded? 1 heartline roll isnt going to do that dumbass
FunAndOnly 1 year ago
@FunAndOnly it was the main reason it had stress since it hit the roll quickly with it gone they don't replace the wheels as much

Yes.

no they didnt, cause i just watched a video where the roll was there and people were on it

I can tell you for a fact they took out the heartline before the ride opened to the public and I'd bet my life on it.
Gophers350 2 years ago 9
@Gophers350 yeup, your right. what was wrong with it anyways? did it break or soemthing?
TheBestYears1996 10 months ago
@TheBestYears1996 no it didn't break.

@ng1150 no they took it out before people rode it, you either saw water dummies or that animated video.

when the train does not gain enough momentum, usually happends in heavy rain/wind.
and yeh you do get to ride it again after it has been tested:D

umm no the actual track was bending from the stress oh yea we should risk killing people!

@oppinoy well, do you want the train to fly off and people to die.. i dont think cedar point wanted that

@oppinoy I think that the track was to close to the water...tlest that is what i heard

@oppinoy the ride is still plenty intense. I thought they took it out for health reasons anyways? It was dangerous to ride it with it on.

what is the g-force anyway on maverick?
lamby5678 4 years ago
I think its like 3.5gs positive, 0g neg., and .75gs lateral.
stupefy12 4 years ago
neg. G's are much higher than 0 ;) probably they are likely -1.5/-1.7 ;)
lore1991 3 years ago
how many lats did it have to make them take it off?
calakapepe 4 years ago
It pulled eight, and there was stress on the necks of the riders, it wasn't Gs it was just too snappy.

Its a shame they took it out, but its still a great ride, i loved it! But that roll would put extreme G's on you and it was too intense to keep
TheFallOf1979 4 years ago
They couldve added extra support beams, you know. I was soooo Fvking counting on the 360 Heartline, too.

MarioMitch2591 4 years ago
why are they replacing the piece of track
samt1225 4 years ago
so they removed the heartline?
Daxter717 4 years ago
they should at least put a loop in or something instead of makin it straight
coassterfreak01 4 years ago
Loops cost cash, something CP lost alot of. They need to get repayed by tickets before the loop comes.
incarnateofsand15 4 years ago
That did sound cool though but a little too much as said before
Gaston1324 4 years ago
i knew that they would take it off because of the g's that you would experience and the ammount of force too
shiny06 4 years ago
I don't understand how a hearline was going to work anyway after a 70mph launch? Of course it's going to have extreme G's!
