They realised that the force on riders during the heartline roll may be too great, so they replaced it with a straight section. They should hav made it a barrel roll or zero-g roll or one of those rolls where the train rolls while the centre of the riders' body stays at the same height.

im not sure how many negative g's it pulled, but i do know it pulled nearly 7 g's !!! they had to replace it cos alot of people would have blacked out !! plus it kind of damaged the trains in a way. it was too much friction for the trains and wheels, which obviously causes problems. maverick is still the best ride !!! but maybe they could have put a neat airtime hill there instead ?? i wonder how many g's the entire ride pulls ?? kingda ka does 4....not sure about TTD

Burton was right. The hearline caused to much wear on the wheel assembely and they would have had to been replaced more than needed.

i definetly remember them saying they'd have to replace trains too often becuase of the stress and extreme force the heartline roll did to the trains, but im very sure it was also because of too high g-forces. either way, they had to take it out

the track was putting too much stress on the trains so if they would have kept it there cedar point would have had to replace 6 trains every 5 years. which would be very costly.

They should've just kept it in, the designers knew exactly how much stress that section caused on the train and track, and Cedar Point signed off on it. Them taking it out lessens the intensity of the ride.

The ride already hurts your neck because of the sudden twists and inversions. This is just after the launch tunnel and would probably hurt even more. When the trains and track were registering high levels of stress, they knew it was a problem that could potentially injure people. Stuff like that doesn't always come out in computer models.

it had no g-forces at all on the people themselves (that's what a heartline roll does). It was train going through the big curve. I think the stress on the track was like 5 gs or something.

hey have any of you noticed something about CP over the last 10 yrs? A pattern; follow me here. First, Power Tower 240 ft thrill ride designed to launch you up or you can get pushed down, so the people liked that. Next MF, 318 ft. giga-coaster. Then a few years later Wicked twister a lauched coaster using Lims, after that TTD, 420 ft. hydraulic lacuched coaster over 122mph. This year Maverick a lauched coaster as the chain lift. That is def NOT a heart line, heart line rolls are saposed to be centered around your heart, giving you almost 0gs but that if you look in someones vid "Maverick's (defunct) heart line Roll", you can clearly see its more like a heel line roll, as the car rotates too much around the track. I personally am a rail junky, been going to parks every year before i was 10. I wouldn't want to ride that part, It looks like the train is swinging around the track :P
