  • can someone please explain granny shifting to me please?

  • It needs a bigger tach...

  • can i change the shifter? (idk if thats what its called) im not talking about the knob im talking about the actual "stick" that hooks the knob to the trans. i have a 2000 mustang gt and its bent (i know it comes like that but i hate it and want a straight one) reply plz

  • @tacos4u632 yes. get a short throw shifter. or just find another one that will fit in your car.

  • best mislabeled vid on utube eva.

  • you meanbl this whole time i have been granny shifting?

  • granny shifting and double clutching 1/4 mile times for both, just so we all can see if its worth double clutching, or 0 to 60 times plz, i never really had the time to do both and now i have a stupid automatic :( now if it was a powerglide auto i wouldnt complain XD

  • @kyle777666 are you high or just stupid?

  • err ya go ...who da man? yo

  • if my granny can shift like that, id be a happy camper :D

  • Granny shiftin not double clutchin like ya should

  • Engine breaking isnt bad at all thats how you save breaks dumb asses

  • @Jeeptj33s Saving engine>saving brakes and you pselled breaks wrong tard

  • @snaggers77 you spelled spelled wrong.....

  • Yes Sir! cool vid.

  • I love that mustang roar.

  • ford mustang the best

  • That is the same steering wheel as my truck.

  • that car sounds fantastic.

  • Yeah... Enjoy buying a new gearbox, moron.

  • @mattdaman666 What do you mean what? Doing shit like that completely fucks the gearbox.

Or do you not call them "gearboxes" in Canada?

  • @Ionlyfearphobophobia Jump right into the attack canada eh. dont even start that shit. How can this fuck up trannys. powershiftings going to do more damage.

  • @mattdaman666 A number of reasons. I mean he did a gear brake(putting it in to 5th to slow down), and i'll bet a good amount of money that he upgraded the engine, but not the gearbox. And you know, standard gearboxes aren't designed to take that sort of power.

  • @Ionlyfearphobophobia Honestly to tired to argue but your not making sense. I just feel hes not being hard on that tranny at all. And "engine braking" isnt bad on the transmission... Some are built pretty tough. toyota v160/v161 6spd is can handle upwards of 1000hp stock. gm's th400 and 4L80E are both verry strong(almost the same transmission basically) but i hope you get the point. I don't know mustangs so i can't say but im sure there not soft as your fucking Opel's transmission.

  • @mattdaman666 3 things.

    1. I know for a fact the "engine braking" is bad for the whole car transmission.

    2. Isn't the idear of mustangs, lots of power, and nothing else? Why would they put a good gearbox in if it's just going to cost more?

    And 3. Opel's German.

  • @Ionlyfearphobophobia I don't argue with ignorant people. It's a waste of time.

  • @Ionlyfearphobophobia Engine breaking isn't exactly bad, but then again it's not " good ". If it's something that's running clean like in the video, you'll be fine as long as you have a basic understanding of driving something built for performance. With all that power, why do you thing there isn't a gearbox to a '91 Camry in there. The Idea of the Mustang is craming as much power as possible into a small uni-body styled shell that was shaped by Ford motor company.

  • WHaT YEAR

  • granny shift?????? will someone explain

  • @icaill

shifting "slow", meaning taking it real easy when shifting compared to trying to rip it into gear

  • Why do you have 3 tachs?

  • wish my 2.3 sounded like that cant wait to do a swap for now got to find the oil leak!

  • Miles per gallon? More like smiles per gallon :D

  • what you driving now?

  • sounds like heads cam intake

  • Sounds awesome! Can you do some videos of you rev matching and heel-toeing? I'd love to hear that on a Fox!

  • wat is under dha hood n exhaust n wat kind of clutch like twin sequential or sumthing

  • That's granny shifting?? Little fast isn't it..?

  • @thinkpad411 not granny as in fast, granny as in not double clutching

  • All I had to do to granny shift was to let my ex wife drive,LOL

  • what exhaust?

  • @ROBBY639

    JBA longtubes, flowmaster mufflers.

  • What is granny shifting?

  • @pktillidie not double clutching like you should...

  • @midnightfapper i thought u only press down on the clutch and throw it into the next gear?

  • what mod and gear?

  • sounds amazing

  • Granny shifting instead of double clutching like you should..

  • can someone here explain what granny shifting is? this is the first teim ive heard of it

  • @yamahonkawazuki Umm... why don't you just type "granny shifting" in google or any other search engine and immediately find out?

  • @barreltrollololol usualyl have to sift through meaningless videos of old peopledriving thats why

  • @yamahonkawazuki Ok then....... you should find someone on how to use a search engine or educate you on what a search engine is.... because there's no sifting through videos. Well, good luck.

  • @barreltrollololol lol youre funny. anyways person answeed it already thanks for trying

  • @yamahonkawazuki Yea, I did try to help, but oh well, just sad that you can't do things for yourself. But reading your comment seems like you don't care. I guess the saying "ignorance is bliss" is working out well for you. See ya.

  • @barreltrollololol theres a difference between answering ones question, and belittling them. take care

  • @barreltrollololol course i see why after reading the troll comments too :) on your profile

  • @cobra4life89

rule. surprised you didnt see it at the top rated comments. if you get into serious drag racing you cant have fuel enter the cabin of the car. mechanical is more accurate/precise. not sure what governing body decide it.....id assumim NHRA.

  • Granny Shifting, not double clutching like ya should! (Fast and the Furious)

  • @MrDudelookslikealady Ahh kk. appreicate that. aka driving a manual. liek your standard manual. and not the doubleclutch like a truck

  • Ford power :D

  • How to Granny Shift a 5.Slow Mustang

    >fixed

  • gayyy

  • That thing sounds like a MONSTER.

  • Gauge Much???...lol jk!

  • @adanCOIN

Yeah..the car had a few gauges in it..lol. Nitrous, oil pressure, fuel pressure and temp...plus the big ugly tach.

  • @bobtodd23 302 under the hood? What else, Because that thing sounds wicked

  • @bobtodd23 how would you be able to look at all of those while driving. LOL

  • @bobtodd23

That tach looked awfully nice for a big one. Don't hate on your tach! haha

  • god i love the sound of an american v8 just nasty mean sounding

  • @cbr900rr919

If you like to hear the powerless crying bitch sound, you may enjoy it, yes.

  • so what exaclty is granny shifting, and how can double clutching help? and also is it true you need to press the clutch when braking, other wise the engine will stall? (thats what ive been told by my dad)

  • @Dude13450 i don't know what is granny shiftig nor what the point of double clutching is ...but i recently knew that you should clutch in before car is completely stoped .....so if you needed to suddenly to brake hard ..so you'll need to press both together clutch+brake ...but if you're slightly braking to manage your speed so it's not necessary

  • @MrDonTattalia TRUE TRUE :)

  • @Dude13450 granny shifting is just what it sounds shifting slow. double clutching is like the truckers do to shift them. it is so the engine has a chance to slow down before trying to put it int the next gear so the gears line up better. it is better for the tranny to double clutch cause there is little chance to grind the gears. you only have to push the clutch in when rpm's start getting low or it will buck. but you can hit the brake while it is in gear and let the engine braking help

  • sounds nice

  • Like a BOSS!

  • There's no need to granny shift lol..... do you even know what that is?

  • @chvick wat do u mean by granny shifting??

  • @zehkgees granny shifting is basically double clutching. If you're up shifting you put it in neutral before the next gear and let out the clutch until the revs come down then you put it into the next gear. It was for when cars didn't have synchronizers but now you can just power shift to get max potential out of your car. When you're down shifting and double clutching you put it in neutral same thing but you hit the gas and rev match then put it into the lower gear and pop the clutch out.

  • @chvick so here is my next question:

why to let out the clutch while u can just clutch in rev match while putting the lower gear and then pop the clutch out?

look i never tried it but im buying a manual car next month, so im interested in these things, i heard that this will slow the tear of the transmission !!! is that right?

  • Damn that thing sounds good...

  • id love my grandma if she fuckin drove like this

  • Holy shit, that sound... it gets you high...

  • sounds great but i think those cars are the ugliest ones ever made

  • @RezDezMugabi What a load of horse shit. The ONLY reason to double clutch ANYTHING is if youre driving a 50 yr old car w/o syncronised gearing or a fucking truck. If sutch were the case we'd all be double clutching as par for the course. I've had my "applicable experience " i used to think it was the thing to do but it's just not necessary. I ride as my main form of transport these days but i do own a manual car and have had manuals since day one.

  • granny shifting not double clutching like ya should.

  • @broskie1234 false statement with new cars.

  • Granny shifting is kind of an outdated term. pretty much everyone that drives a manual, granny shifts. Granny shifting just means that you're not double-clutching. but double-clutching was only necessary in cars without synchronized gears or something like that. any car made in the last 30 years will have this feature. Only big rigs need double-clutching.

  • @becauseicanpostit Finaly someone with half a clue. I think most of these kids just want to double clutch because they heard a guy talking about it on The fast and furoious. People, there is no real advantage to double clutching a modern car. Infact it could even slow you down.

  • and that, my friends, is how you drive a car like this. I would abuse this car! The tach would live in the redline.

  • @fooloof and you'd have a dead 5.0 pretty fast

  • you can run a fuel line inside of the car, has to be a solid line tho, how do you the guys in cars in supras for example have fuel pumps in the boot, which is actually the inside of the car cos theyre a hatch back

  • what is granny shifting?

  • what is granny shifting? and i dig the hood guage. i love the old hood mounted tachometers on those old firebirds and amc rebel machines

  • That sounds bad-ass! can't beat a snarling V8!

Thanks for the upload fella! :-)

  • Granny shifing...not doulbe clutching like ya should...

  • @MrYoungmaze32 I live my life a quarter mile at a time

  • I guess a lot of people don't remember the 70's GTO Judge with the tach out on the hood. I think it's retro cool look.

  • auto meter has a sender that u hook up to the regulator and run it to the 3 wire guage it wooks very gud but its electrical and involves wiring... just read instructions

  • i fucking lol'd at the title.

  • god damn sounds good

  • It is absolutely pointless to double clutch anyway. It's a waste of time if you have anything made after 1922...

  • @dragonkiller63729 What exactly is double clutching?

  • how many times u gotta tell these people its a fuel pressure gauge?

  • BADASS!!!

  • Fast and furious

  • "I almost had you" "You almost had me? You never had me! You never had your car! granny shiftin, not double clutchin like you should."

  • God damn fast and furious fans. Go back to driving your Camry.

  • Foxbody? I learned how to drive stick in one of these, 306, Stage 3 Zoom Race Clutch, that was fun.

  • a gauge on the hood looks cheesy as hell. did you run out of room in the inside of the car?

  • @xs1ner Fuel pressure gauge...can't run a fuel line inside the interior of the car.

  • @bobtodd23 get a mechanical fuel pressure gauge and a highpressure isolator? no fuel in the car and you get to have the gauge in the inside without fuel inside the car, plus you dont gotta worry about somebody stealing the gauge and busting the fuel line

  • @xs1ner This is true...thanks for the info!

  • @bobtodd23 yeah. maybe its just me but i see it as being very likely to somebody to come and rip that off your hood, those things are pretty pricey. i would recommenced what i just said or get a cowl style hood.

  • @xs1ner Or you could just nut up and buy an electronic one lol.

  • @testy462 LOL.

  • @xs1ner Or go with electronic gauge.

  • @xs1ner your a dumbass lol

  • @lchsgolfer Shh kid. Grown ups are talking.

  • @xs1ner Nah, he just wants a mini cooper

  • @xs1ner that civic u drive looks cheesy as hell

  • @NeeKroVal I don't own a Civic. Try again, moron.

  • after reading these coments i had a suddern urge to watch fastand the furious --

  • finally someone who does jerk the shifter around hard...no homo

  • i would think you would want the tach closer in your view so you dont have to turn your head to see it. Why not mount a smaller one on the steering column?

  • FORD: Found On Road Dead.... Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge....

  • @Pericles884

look you fucking ricer nobody wants to hear your shit. your car (if you even have 1) doesnt have a 1/4 of that hp the 5.0 in this vid has. we dont want to hear you talk about your vtek so fuck off. i think your grama wants her car back btw.

  • @Paintballer4life117 hey paintballer! whats up??!

  • @2004svtterminator

not much bro, hows your beautiful Cobra?

I'm upgradig from my v6 to a GT soon, gonna be raping ricers lol

  • @Pericles884 but fords not borrowing money or almost out of business like chevy and dodge

  • SICK!

  • Stop calling names!!, this is just proper shifting

  • is that gauge on the hood

  • @mrchoppaboy Fuel pressure gauge.

  • @bobtodd23 Why not inside the car like everybody?

  • @bobtodd23

you do realize when you park somewhere, some asshole is gona rip that gauge right off ur hood.

  • @bobtodd23 Did you never think to feed it through the firewall or is that not possible on Mustangs?

  • wut was so bad about that

  • Yeah come get some!!! Sick car bro!!!

  • this was homo ahaha

  • that car sounds amazing

  • granny shift looks all right to me

  • Sounds just about like mine but mine u can hear the tires chrip when I get every gear

  • sounds great :D

  • i guess your normal tach dont work huh take that big ass shit off

  • i think granny shifting sounds awesome. also its not so hard on your car

  • sounds really gud

  • Id like to see you run my sti

  • Aint nothin wrong with that shifting man- nice an smooth, car sounds good too. I hate it when people think ya gotta try and break the shifter off everytime you get on it.

  • There is a difference between double clutching used in truck terms and double clutching used in racing terms.

Double clutching is kicking the clutch again after the car has launched, to rev the engine and "launch" the car again. If done properly in a car with long gears and a powerband in the top end it will help you accelerate faster.

You also may snap an axle with good slicks, or burn out your clutch doing it a lot. Double clutching = desperation, "I'll break it before I lose."

  • lol yea that's exactly how my grandma shifts her super snake, its hilarious.

  • "I live my life a 1/4 mile at a time"

  • define granny shifting

  • hey what do you think about 410's on a daily street car.? one friend says not bad and still street-able another says bad idea kills fuel mileage and will melt on hi way.

    your advice is much appreciated

  • @frock512 I personally wouldn't put 4:10's in a daily driver...especially if you have to do a lot of highway driving. It would rev pretty high going down the interstate in 5th gear.

  • @bobtodd23 how about 373?

  • @bobtodd23 True, but it also depends on your transmissions gears. For example, if you put in a 6-speed T56, you can have a really low 6th of .50 (if you want that). I believe the Ford T56's (00' Cobra R/03'-04' Cobra) 6th gear ratio is .62/.63. Aftermarket T56s can go as low as .50.

  • @frock512 I have 4:30s in my supra and it does 2700 down the highway at 60. Not bad for me i guess. 3400 at 75.

  • @Totenhosen17 your burning some gas then

  • @TheEvanweeks 19mpg freeway, 23 highway.

  • @frock512 can't go wrong w/ 3.73's

  • i don't know what the fuck you guys are smoking but he definitely put it in 5th at the end.

how do I know this? he made the same awkward, slow far right and up motion I make when putting my car in 5th.

  • what are the gages for on your dashboard?? makes the car look sick

  • @Surferdude4ever Nitrous, Oil pressure, Temp gauge.

  • @bobtodd23 it's not the gauges that make the car sick..the car is just SICK!!long live the STANG!!

  • @Surferdude4ever makes it like a ricer

  • Good shifting. trying to teach my buddy how to speed shift so we can race. Hope to see your ass on the road some day.

  • Easily the best sounding car ever.
