Amazing, a game breaking bug and the company doesn't give a fuck

The only solution i heard of is redoing arcadia all over again, and even then you might have the bug AGAIN, so how many fucking times am i supposed to do this level?? I can't believe non of the reviewers caught this bug all those years ago when it was released.

FUCK 2k games, from now on i'm not paying one cent for their games and you can be damned sure i'm going to play ALL of them.

I have a function "save game" after the moment when safe (in this part of game) was open and you can continue your playing... but the inventory and skills probably will be different like yours ! Because this save game is from someone who was playing the game...

Look guys can someone help me please. I have the same problem. i read every 141 coments you write. I didnt even found the scavenger tonic or the scorunger tonic i tryed to remove every tonic i had in my engineering slots and the bug was still there. I tried to play from the beginning and the safe was empty and i didnt found that tonics. Sooooo please say anything that will work cause im desperate. :(((

this is a bug with the latest patch, because i played it a year ago through twice with no problem, but i just reinstalled and played and cause i had to patch it for some reason now this glitch is here, patches are sposed to fix things i thought :/

@BlinkyBill26 Sadly for me it happened 3 days after launch , long before the patch. I eventually got past it by restarting from a few lvls back.

Well here is the solution, simple and non-tricky

I found a safegame from exactly after looting the safe, so you can just continue playing. And there you go, simply put it in “Documments/Bioshock/Savegames­” start and load the game. Download from here: wwwDOTsendspaceDOTcom/file/s1m­90g

(Replace the DOTS with “.”)

The Guy seems to be “good” although not 100% but good enough

Well, i run into the same problem, and -as you said- downloaded the 1.1 patch + the crack and still the safe is empty WTF??

I dont want to restart the gameplay because that sucks monkeyballs

That's weird never had that bug. And actually played through that very part twice on medium if that matters. I did look around the room both times and then went to the safe. Maybe you go too fast?

I owercame this bug by using another bug in this game. I used a teleport cheat (I had no other choise) When you enter the room which wil fill with deadly gass and kill al the trees, use that cheat to teleport straight through those doors before they lock. Ofcourse I didnt get the new gun and didnt kill the big daddy, but its well worth it than not playing this game at all.

are you sure its not cos youre going to the safe before the safe is ready?

i never had this problem, and i always went to the window and listened to the guy (forgot his name) talking, and looking at the trees outside with the gas around them, then went to the safe a couple minutes later, and things were there

maybe try waiting before hacking the safe?

This is happening to me right now :(. Some people said to restart the game (turn it off and on) restart your computer and to reload the game from a recent saved game. I tried all of those and I'm still glitching =(

I had this problem like many time. Once i jsut reloaded back to my old save and when julie dies i just ran to the safe standing a little far away from it put in the code and all the items were there :). PS: I ran away when julie was dying and didnt watch the cut scene :D came back when it was all over :D

oh, i found an answer: Go back to your last save just before you enter the room. Go directly to the safe(Do not pick up any items) the safe will have the contents to continue the mission..

I've been having this same problem the last hour. Loaded old saves again and again, no use. Went all around the level just looking for other "endings", gathering loads of ammo and stuff (including invicibility tonic), but I'm gonna have to say goodbye to that now I guess since I've already opened the safe. DAMN.

I Found the solution of this problem

go to your dvd of bioshock game

and open "srdownloader" folder

and double click on "BioshockAutoPatcher" file ,and wait when it downloads the last patches ,and this problem will be solved ,

If GOD wants that.

it worked after i upgraded to 1.1.

I upgraded then loaded the safe game where i was standing before the painting (so i still had to remove that one), unlocked the safe and the items were finally there.

Nothing works... I tried saving it before 'hacking' the code, tried saving before opening the safe itself, quit to Windows and continued multiple times. Nothing worked.

After trying everything to solve this, I finally gave up and used the no clipping cheat ('ghost'). That'll get you past the gate into Farmer's Market so you can harvest/rescue the one little sister there, but you won't be able to make the Lazarus Formula. The hint/goal will still tell you to go to Langford's safe. But once you're done in Farmer's Market, head back to Arcadia and use the ghost cheat to go through the locked Rapture Metro door. The game will continue normally from there.

Found the solution. Safe the game before opening the safe. Quit to Windows and start the game again. Select 'Continue' in the game option. The contents of the safe will be present. Sure to work. If its doesn't try repeating the steps 2-3 times. Hope this frees you from the agony!

I confirm that this problem is solved by saving before unlocking the safe, exiting to Windows, reopening Bioshock, loading the save, and then unlocking and opening the safe. I even had scavenger equipped.

just a heads up i found this on the official website and it helped me to fix this problem..

"Wall Safe will not have items if unlocked in then very quickly opening it.

I found the wall safe empty if done this way.

I don't have the scrounger tonic equiped or even owned yet.

Reloading to before entering this area of Arcadia does not solve the problem either.

Solution:-

Quit to windows then load back to the same area before unlocking the safe and items will be in there.;)"

Well, solved the problem. I hacked the safe, then saved the game, loaded it, took a look inside the safe and blingbling was mine. :)
