In September 2011, French police seized 11 sports cars belonging to President Obiang's son as part of a corruption investigation. In October 2011, the U.S. gov't filed forfeiture claims for 70 million dollars of that same son's assets, citing evidence that he used corrupt money to buy them.

So who do we believe: two separate independent investigations that document credible and very detailed evidence of corruption, or the rhetoric of President Obiang?

African will always be like this--at least, throughout our lifetimes. We won't see too much change. Our hopes about Africa will rise, then fall, the endless cycle. Blacks lack the collective ability to transcend corrupt strongman dictatorships. And they always have whites conveniently at hand to blame for the strongmen taking rule. But in actuality, not enough blacks really WANT change. They're most comfortable with tribal subsistence living. And there's nothing wrong with that.

His son the agircultural "minister" apparently has a multi million dollar mansion in California and has recently purchased a 300 MILLION DOLLAR YACHT. How does an Agric Minister afford that?

The US State Department specifically states that when foreign government officials are found to be involved in corrupt practices and human rights abuses they won't be allowed into the US. Yes Obiang, his son and ministers as well as friends go to America as they please.

Nguema and his family have used the country's national treasury as their personal property without regards to the welfare of the people of Equatorial Guinea.
