@MATUSOWNED This was from 1998. The original with Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw was 1974. This remake stayed very true to the original, not like the newest w/John Travolta. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@Tom8201 That would be funny if you're familiar with Toronto train cars and their trying to palm it off as American. It's like they try to say Glee is set in Lima, OH where I live, and when they go outside it doesn't look anything like here. thanks for watching and commenting.
@TheXFiles1013 Thank you! My favorite version of the movie by far. It kept really close to the original, but just watching a brooding Vincent made this the best by far! Thanks for watching!
@MATUSOWNED I'm afraid not. It was a TV movie and never released on video or disc. You can sometimes find copies people made on ebay and ioffer.com. Just keep googling it, and you might find it.
@theheartcollector6 So many Vincents. He changes with each role. This is his sexy dark and brooding side! LOL I love ALL of his sides. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@Tom8201 Thanks for the info. It was a very good movie and very hard to find. Some say you can find it on the 'net to watch, but I'm not really sure. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You're welcome! Hopefully you think Vincent makes the best Mr. Blue like I do, but then I love Vincent in everything. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you! I think the director realized what a great profile he has (love those lips and that nose!) and showed him to his best advantage in this movie! And who can resist his dark, brooding charm??? Thanks for watching and commenting!
I know! When he is good, he is so sweet I could just eat him up, but when he's bad I could just melt into a puddle at his feet! Thanks for watching and commenting.
You're welcome! Too bad the new remake didn't inspire a re-release of this wonderful version (which in MY humble opinion is the best!) Thanks for watching and commenting.
Where can I find this movie? I just watched the (actually quite good) 2009 version and would like to see this one, but can't seem to locate it anywhere...
It was just a TV movie, so there was no video or DVD release as of yet. But there are some copies that people made off of the TV that they sell floating around. Google it, or try places like ebay or ioffer, etc. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Me, too! He was so much better than the original, and I don't even think I'll bother with the new one!(Can you imagine Travolta in a black turtleneck?!? Not hot) LOL Thanks for watching and commenting
Soon as I heard the words, "...Mr. Blue..." this video had me grinning. This song was made for this character, and I wish I could see this version of P-123. Great video, made me smile.
Thanks! I knew it had to be that song when I heard it! It stayed real close to the original film and since it was a TV movie is hard to find, but there are some copies out there sometimes. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I know I am going to get rated down for saying this but this was a TERRIBLE remake of the 1974 original. I too love Vincent D'Onofrio but Robert Shaw will always be the ONLY Mr. Blue.
I don't judge people's opinions on personal tastes! (But I'm glad you love VDO!) I just recently saw the original on the Retro movie channel and still prefer Vincent myself. Fortunately, they're both out there for whoever wants to watch! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Don't worry, i agree with you. I would at least check out the remake with Denzel Washington and John Travolta. I mean for 2009, The Taking Of Pelham 1,2,3 has been reinvented
I'm afraid I'm not a subway expert, just a Vincent D'Onofrio fan. And I enjoyed this remake as much as (more, actually) than the Walter Matthau original. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I think the 2009 remake with Denzel Washington & John Travolta will be better than this remake, because the second remake of Pelham 123 was reinvented
I know it takes away from the movies point. and both the original version is better. To me, the remake with Denzel washington is at least worth a look at.
I love the 1974 original (ESPECIALLY the soundtrack), haven't seen this version, and I'm fearful of the upcoming remake.
I'm afraid it's going to be a bunch of "manly" posturing, gangsta rap, moody lighting, and quirky comebacks. They'll give Denzel some sort of semi-intelligent idea (that the audience will have already guessed) to thwart Mr. Blue... oops, sorry, they don't even have the guts to use the "color" names anymore; I should have said "Ryder"...
And then there's Travolta annoying whiny voice, hardly menacing. D'Onofrio's voice might be kinda soft, but it can still come across as dangerous! I liked the original too, but this will always be my favorite! Thanks for watching!
I like the actor Vincent & Denzel alot. Those 2 guys are very good actors. As for who has bigger brasses on here who cares? I got pretty big brawny ones but I don't go around bragging about it. This was a good video also.
I like how Vincent changes in every role he takes. I haven't seen Denzel in many things, but he did a good job at what I'd seen. Thank you for the compliment on my video! But my point to xTazerx was throwing around the word "gay" like an insult and just being generally unpleasant with the mask of anonymity the Web gives you doesn't make him a man. People are free to not like my stuff, be gay, or be brassy females like me! Just be nice or I can't help but answer! LOL Thanks for watching!
the original was great. But i do hope the 2 remake of the taking of peliham 123 is good, it's Tony Scott for crist sakes. But the 2 remake should have somone with a more so menicing voice, like Alan Rikman of die hare, or kiefer Suterland. But i do like when travolta says open the door or ill kill you, that was awsome. But travolta is a good bad guy tuh
I guess I'm just not a Travolta fan. And after Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Look Who's Talking, (not to mention Welcome Back, Kotter) I can't take him seriously.
This looks like a cheeeesy student film & the music is 100% GAY. I'm sure most people feel that way look at the limted amount of hits this sucks dude!
Oh, is that how manly men spell cheesy? Whatever, those that like it watch it, and those that don't have thousands of others to choose from. BTW, I'm a chick but guessing I have a brass pair bigger than yours. Dude.
This looks so much better than the re-make than the newest remake that has Denzel Washington in it. Donofrio looks better (and sexier) than John Travolta who essentially play the same characters.
I know. I saw a clip on Access Hollywood with John Travolta and it looked like the same set and everything, but JT just didn't sound right as Mr. Blue. (Can't improve on perfection!) Thanks for watching and commenting.
It is rare, having been an ABC TV movie of the week, but sometimes you can find it online. Now I'm really looking for "The Investigators", which is the only thing I need to complete my collection! Anybody???
I've been waiting for someone to make a vid using Pelham 123. He's just too damn hot in this film! Great song choice. VDO is at his sexiest as the cold Mr. Blue walking around with a gun on his shoulder. 2:06 to 2:12: YUM!
Thank you! I had just got my copy and loved him all dressed in black (Naked Tango will forever be my favorite though) But I'd be his hostage any day! Thanks for commenting.
The remake I'm speaking of starred Denzel Washington and John Travolta in 2009.
