I don't believe in God or anything supernatural, but I get on board with spirituality in the sense of self-transcendence. It's rational: the ego is the basis of irrational worry, anxiety, fear, arrogance, and hate. Let go of ego, be 'selfless', and you let go of these negativities and become naturally far more happy and compassionate. Compassion then comes not just from rules to follow, but from your state of mind. If only more people knew that selfishness is not in their best self-interest.

I don't believe in God or anything supernatural, but I get on board with spirituality in the sense of self-transcendence. It's rational: the ego is the basis of irrational worry, anxiety, fear, arrogance, and hate. Let go of ego, be 'selfless', and you let go of these negativities and become naturally far more happy and compassionate. Compassion then comes not just from rules to follow, but from your state of mind. If only more people knew that selfishness is not in their best self-interest.
