I use "Slow Down Music Trainer" on my iPhone. I totally LOVE it! It has really great audio quality, and gives me full access to all the songs on my iPod. I always have my iPhone with me. I HATE trying to play my guitar in front of my computer.
i agree that the best way to learn how to play a song (or espacially a solo) is to play it slowly. espacially for gilmour solos where every note counts.
Awesome! Would be nice if you check out my cover of this awesome song from the Division Bell! Duey you helped me learn this solo very well! Thank you so much!
I've seldom seen a solo played and covered with so much love. Truly, the loving little curls, bends and mutings make all the difference. Dude, only Gilmour could've played it better. And I would know ...
Hey duey u added this video on my birthday and i got my guitar off my partner very same day i dont practise too much as j have work commitments an children to look after lol but man u r awesome i need to learn the end of this solo and i will do off ur video thanks for uploading this lesson look forward to seeing more vids frm you.
hey Duey, thanks for the heads up with the slow downer thing, helps a lot. Only bad thing I find with it is with lightning fast parts, when you slow it down enough to pick out the notes it makes all the rhythm and vocals sound an awful mess which is really distracting. The equaliser can take the bass out pretty well but still it's painful. Any suggestions? great lessons btw, ty
@womma same way you remember words and how to write or sing along to a song, it uses the same part of the brain. playing a sequence of notes is the same as writing a word down or singing along, you know what letter comes next and how to write it and what word comes next and how to sing.. same with notes. Each note you play gives a reference point for the next note to follow. It helps to know the song pretty well, it helps you memorise by singing the guitar part as you listen, like air guitar
how do you learn the solo's is it best to transcribe i.e listen to the original and try and duplicate whats being played, or tablature? i've just started to learn lead guitar and would love some advise off you as your playing and technique are awesome and dave gilmours ma hero...slash is a close second but gilmours the man....thanks friend :D :D
Gracias por el esfuerzo!! thanks for the effort man!!

pd. where can i find this version? from which album is this version ..there are lots of in thre internet.... but i want this one in orden to start learning it.
I find Guitar Pro is sufficient for learning music. Not only can you slow down the tempo, but it also gives you standard notation and tablature. It can have as many instruments playing as the song calls for; or you can mute individual instruments if they get in the way.
Sound quality is nothing special; simple midi sounds, like an electric keyboard with numerous instrument settings; but it's really helpful for learning songs.
man amzing playing and tone one question where can i find AND BUY A GUITAR LIKE THAT FENDER CUSTOM HSS STRAT IM IN LOVE WITH IT WHERE DID U GET IT AND WHATS THE PRICE MY LIST IS UNDER 1000 I WANT THAT GUITAR LOL! BEEN PLAYING FOR 5 YEARS WITH MY IBANEZ 350
Duey Moore! I have gone over this solo dozens of times and thanks to you I am inspired to pick up my guitar again. You make it look so easy, I am however having a few probs with some of the licks especially in the first part at the top of the neck lol! If you could do a breakdown ( fast and slow version) you would make a fellow gilmour fan very happy. And many more of us too lol! Thankyou so much for your contributions. White knight.
Duey: you need to finish that DVD! I'll buy it! If you get a chance, check out my cover of this one I give Duey Moore productions special credit in the description. Without this video, I'd have never figured this song out - the internet tabs on this one are pretty much useless! Seriously, finish that DVD!
Thanks again Duey.Outstanding.If you see negative comment-they envy you that's it.But i think you knoe that :) If you have time pleaseeeee-Yet another movie solo. Thanks again man.
Hey duey! perfect my friend, this is just what needed to be able to learn these brilliant solo's thanks for posting this video i realy apreciate it man.
bending has nothing to do with the guitar itself. if your starting out i recommend you use regular gauge strings ( 10 or 11 ) and just keep bending. you really need to build up the muscles in your fingers and your hand. you also REALLY need to build up callouses on your fingertips. i promise your fingers/fingertips will never hurt more. but once you get the callouses you will be fine. once you get your technique down i recommend ernie ball super or extra slinky strings. lot easier to bend.
Exactly, good advice. The only way to get mad bending calluses is by bending hard. like hxcmthrfca said, it hurts like hell at first but then you can tear into your strings and bend like a madman once those calluses are there.
also, when your practicing (this is in general for all techniques you are working on) if your muscles/hand start to hurt... TAKE A BREAK! you can really damage the muscles and tendons in you're hand hindering you from playing guitar to you're full potential indefinitely
I just subscribe, Wow your good, great teaching!

I can see how the slow downer helps you learn a solo. My problem is how do you remember it?

how do you get the sound? What amp and special effects do you use?

How does this compare to Audacity, the free version?
jabman549 1 year ago
can you save the slowed down versions using this software - to put onto an ipod?
(I usually run backing tracks and original music through an ipod into the amp)
