Hello Mikey, I have looked at this video so many times. I have finally build up the nervous to attempt this blanket. I love your color scheme so I using the exact colors you used because I love the way it looks. So far it looks pretty good, but I want you too see it and let me know how I did once I'm finished. Thank you for all the videos I have seen. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!
@hearfan yup mikey made this by hand!!!!! its beautiful isnt it???? i also saw your other question about this video and wht way to yarn over......i would follow the video the best you can and do what mikey does and you will catch on it can be tricky to follow at first........let me know if you need anymore help....cathy@ mikeys helpdesk :)
You are, in my opinion, one of the best crocheters on Youtube! You give us gals a real run for our money! I hope I can crochet this well some day!!!!!
Oh I also realize Mikey is probably very busy making us more awesome videos.. so although it would be great if he could reply... I am open to all suggestions. Maybe some of your screens show the color better than what I am seeing (or I could be going blind. lol) The color I asked about actually looks black on my screen.. but I am guessing its a drk purple or a drk blue? Thanks everyone! Happy crocheting! =)
Okay I am IN LOVE with this blanket.. I don't know if it's the stitch or the color scheme Mikey used but I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.... and I am going to attempt to make it. I really want to stick to approx the same colors used in the video. Primary rainbow colors. What I am have a hard time being sure of is after the red color does it transition into a drk blue or a drk purple? I plan on going with a drk purple and then transitioning to the lighter purple and onto the med blue. I know I am OCD! lol
this is absolutely stunning! i hope i'll be as good as you one day... just beautiful, i looooove it! plus you sound like man and that even impresses me more ;) i wish you tons of inspirations for more awesome stuff like this piece of art!

I wouls like to know what size hook and yarn you used.
I have a medium weight yarn (patron classic wool) and would like to do the double it. I know you said there is a lot of yarn used but how much of each color? 1/2 or 3 skeins of each? more? I have 7 colors 1 of each...I would like to know how much more to buy ( last time I was at the store they were low on stock and I want to get it all together before there are out completely.
mikey is using a k sz hook for this but a j sz hook would be fine too worsted medium yarn would be the yarn you want to use in any colors! as far as how many skiens you need it depends on how big you want to make it. i would think you would want a couple 2-3 of each color to start so you dont buy more than you need to!
hope this helps.... have fun with it and good luck
hi mikey, love your video's. it is the only way i get a pattern. i was wanting to know if you could show how to do the log cabin pattern? i have tried to do it from a
Mikey, this is something else. The pattern is awesome and I wrote down the color combo so I can repeat it on projects. The color and texture on this is awesome!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos!!!! Before you, I could MAYBE manage a granny square... now I am doing a Jumbo Pinewheel blanket for my "soon-to-be" neice or nephew. Thanx soooooo much!!!
I actually don't live too far from you... is there a particular place you buy your yarn from that you would recommend?? Thnx!!
@Charbourne14 I actually travel to KW or Cambridge to Lens Mill Stores... There is never seasonal yarn... Everything you need is always available... so you don't have to wait for Walmart to get christmas yarn or etc... I love it for that... I can work on any seasonal project around the year with them. Their prices are reasonable too!
How many chains did you use on your first row? I'm trying to figure out how many chains I would need to make a blanket big enough for a queen size bed. Since it shrinks, it's confusing.
Hello Mikeyssmail you did a goood job . Can't you please let me know what kind the yarn that you use and what brand shout I use for blanket? Do you have Jumbo wheel pin patten that I can have? Please send it for me ! THANK YOU I love your video a

hey i was wondering am i crazy for making a 90in x 70in blanket like this is it crazy or should i make it smaller i've already started so idk and im not sure if that is to big for just a blanket or not so please tell me if it is or not i need to know for specific reasons thanks and love your vids
Hi there just wondering why there are a lot of videos of your owrk on these pages, but not on your page im confused. I subscribed and have most of your videos on my ipod. P.S. you are a great teacher, Thanks, Yoshi in Brooklyn
Ok Mikey, I'm going to try my hand at this to make 2 armrest covers for my sofa. If it comes out ok I'll post it for you, if not I'll go hang my head in shame! LMAO!
i have finally finish my pin wheel blanket and it looks so pretty. of course i am not a pro at making blankets yet, but it still came out pretty nice. thanks. i hope you put more new tutorials up. like making sweater, summer hats and other cool stuff. ok well, thanks again.
red heart rainbow. Just ensure the colours are within the same spectrum... if you use all bright colours, then pick all bright... these were all dull colours.
I am currently doing a baby blanket in this pattern but never knew the name of it. Your blanket with all the colors, did you use 2 strands of yarn together???
Beautiful work! I am a beginner.. I can do very basic stuff but can you tell me which video I should view to learn the Catherine wheel stitch? I would maybe try a small scarf of a square first.. All your work is great! Better instructions than any book!
I also want to make a baby blanket. Any suggestions for a beginner to make something that looks a little more than a basic crochet stitch? Thanks...Judith
Umm.. I'm not sure... some patterns are very very easy... as long as you have the principal of the idea down pat... I guess the options are unlimited.
How does the wavy shell stitch look to you? Very simple in concept in comparison to the catherine wheel but it looks so complicated that you would fool anyone that doesn't know how to crochet to think you were a professional!
Thank you so much for your tutorials on how to do this stitch. I am a beginner and can do a granny square - that is about my limit. I am doing a baby blanket for a friend and I followed all your tutorials step by step, it is looking amazing. I have managed to use two yarns together to get that "blended in" effect. Thanks :o)
It's simply beautiful. I'm definitely going to have to learn this from watching you, and give it a try. I think I'll start off with a small one first. Just WOW! I'm an ebay mixed yarn lot junkie so I'm sure I can find enough yarn in different colors to finish a decent sized blanket. Thanks for sharing your talents.
This blanket is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I bet it would be a nice pattern to use up scrap yarns...eh? And if you have a half ton of yarn, you could double the yarn and use a large hook, like an "N" or a "P"....and it would get really big really fast! lol!
OMG, you just reminded me of something! LOL! Years ago, my Mom crocheted a beautiful blanket using scraps, and she utilized the "fabric" stitch...My Dad liked it, but complained, "It's too heavy, I can't roll over while I'm under it"! LOL! We all had a good laugh, and Mom then put that blanket UNDERNEATH them and slept on top of it, and it held in their body warmth so good.
This is beautiful!!!! That weight would be perfect for me since I sleep under two blankets in the winter....and I live in Texas. I'd never make it up there of course. LOL I would think working with double string and such a huge piece once it gets on in size would be difficult. I'll have to get some experience before I attempt something like this, but I definitely will one of these days! I'd love to see one of it in a pastel rainbow!
So Beautiful! What kind of yarn did you use? Also , just curious it the Whole blanket double stiched or just the rows where you combined the two colors?
The entire blanket is double stringed.. it has to be because if you don't... where the colours are combined (two colour of strings mixed) where the colour is solid, the material would be really thin and the blanket wouldn't sit properly.
This is not a cheap blanket to make but oh so lovely!
Your blanket is beautiful! I've been crocheting rag rugs for years now and always wanted to learn to crochet with actual YARN and your tutorial is AWESOME. Thanks so much. We'll see how my blanket turns out...
I am starting ASAP, I can buy Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn for about $1.99 online. I hope you don't mind, I am even copying the colors you used I think they are beautiful! Thank you so much for taking the time to post the instructions.
I know because of the double wool I used it wasn't cheap. I am estimating about 45 dollars in materials... It's a single size blanket and I love it. Thanks for your comment today.
i know how to do the wheel and how to start it but when i get like to the third or fourth color my ends get like this c shap and they arent even straight. so what i am saying i can't do the ends. i hate that because i have to start all over again.
btw really awesome, im a college age male so i assume most my friends will make fun of me for trying this, but i like working with my hands and keeping them agile, so just wanted to say, really nice stuff... also, how many like, bunches of yarn do you use on a large blanket like that ? (i want to see which yarn i can buy so that it doesnt end up costing me more than i can afford)
ummm I would say I purchased way too much.. Umm there's really no answer to this because what I do is purchase what I think is enough... maybe like 10 balls and see where i go for that... long as walmart doesn't do a product change midway through my project, i'm happy with that. :) I go buy just a tad bit more when I am done with the 10... even just buy 6 and see where you end up. :)
what stitch is best for me if i wanted to start my own project like a blanket? This would be my first project and i want it to be unique and a challenge for me so what would you think would be the best way to make a blanket?
absolutely beautiful. would be great for a christmas or birthday gift. i have crocheted for a few years but never saw this pattern. cant wait to get started. can you specify the particulars needed to make one of these beautiful aghans. thank you
I used Walmart wool. RED HEART BRAND... something affordable. The softer the wool, the more expensive it gets... I tend to keep it cheap because a blanket can take up to 60 bucks to make using even cheap wool.
That is beautiful! Gonna have to make one of those soon! Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

I used Walmart wool. RED HEART BRAND... something affordable. The softer the wool, the more expensive it gets... I tend to keep it cheap because a blanket can take up to 60 bucks to make using even cheap wool.
