USD at hair over 0.74 . Silver was at $18 when you recorded this! Ah the days
I think S&P announcement is taking it's toll. $45.74 silver is also a reflection of the "trust" the world has for USD and the debt controlled system. Ben has been trying everything to slow it; but of course we saw the signs so long ago.
We knew it was coming; I will be "excited" as I watch over the next 12-18 months. Lies will continue to be spun. In the end there is only one way the USD can go.
I feel resistance levels are bogus in the PM/FX markets. The money masters that manipulate the market use tech data investors to predict the market and make their move. You may win sometimes, but ultimately they will use your predictable behavior to dominate the market.
They are losing their grip, but still have some control.
Does anyone think Aussie dollar will go to US$1.80 - or will other factors come into play around $1.10 or somewhere well before then.
This is important as lets say the moonshot calls are right and gold goes to $5,000 and silver to US$500 - anyone who buys in non-US dollars may see almost no gain despite 5, 10, 20, 30 times price increase.
Could the aussie dollar really go to US$10 just coz a small market like gold goes up 10 times? I would have thought not, but over the past year it seems indeed that the aussie dollar has been directly proportional to the gold price - i dont even know how that can be - does it mean that our currency is PURELY a trading hedge against gold trades by big international players - our real economy being almost irrelevant in setting our currency exchange rate. That would be amazing.
Its a weird feeling...scary times for the global economy and for the financial systems we trust in...but also a good time for precious metals investors....should we feel guilty for profiting from this crisis??? Or have we just invested wisely?? I know I've done everything I can to warn my friends, family and co-workers (I even started writing a blog). These are history times.
First deflation (what we are seeing now) the inflation, it comes from the fact that the economy is slower then the printing of money. First the holes are filled up and then the money spill over into the economy.
John, beyond the financial information you share here, I appreciate your obvious concern. I'm writing from America on Sunday as the hour nears 1:00 a.m. & though I don't typically have trouble sleeping, anxiety about things - global finances, geopolitics, and more locally the future of my employer & even my job - weigh on me too often these days. With due gratitude for the financial help you strive to provide, right now I want to say "thanks" for the simple expression of humanity and care.
We (some of us) knew this was going to happen anyway. Hopefully we have prepared by way of stocking up on food items and buying gold and silver? Now is the time to save, not spend as the media keeps telling us. Brace yourselves for what's about to happen!
Our dollar is strong now true, our utililites and food are going up all the time. That's what scares me. I don't care about imported goods. I just want affordable basic living expenses.
The thing is that when 90% or more are bullish on gold and silver that means the buyers are almost all in the the sellers are are not there. The market flushed out the speculator shorters now we will see if the real demand is truly there. The US inflated the market huge so earnings should be heavily inflated during earnings season. Expect earning surprises like ALCOA.
Gold and silver is temporary top now. should sell of to 16.50 silver near term. If the DOW doesn't hold support Should send silver to lower channel. I shorted near 18 today and unloaded by physical.
Hey guys I just watched CNBC, and they said the Recovery is full steam ahead!! Everything is fine!!.....Oh they also said don't worry about gold its just a glitch in the trading system.

Hey John, Long time watcher. I am in the US. I have been buying PM's as you said, but hat shoudl we do with the dollar. Is cash still king. i.e. hold on to what you have or woudl inflation help the stock market and or Pm's even more? Keepign in mind is all I ahve to buy with is US Dollars? Thansk for the time
Forgot to tell you to keep up the good work .. because of guys like you, I have probably invested and had other people invest about a total 30k USD into silver and gold markets (mining companies and the hard stuff of course).. we believe you .. keep up the work !
If the fed reserve has been printing USD and providing it to banks to loan out...and the banks have been setting on it instead of loaning...then inflation has not heated up since the extra USD was not in circulation.
If banks then loan that USD to Australia (or any other country) for carry trade gains ... and Austrailia uses that USD to pay its bills ... then, does inflation against the USD begin to heat up since the currency is now in play?

morning guys there is a difference between devaluation and deflation .. he said she said whack a badger difference .. gold eleven hundred silver eighteen ,,, good sounding numbers .. when msm starts talking gold might be time to liquidate buy india rupee... take care players .. keep your eye on the door ...
First of all, I like the title and started to laugh (since you beat Mike to the punch)...and then I realized the seriousness of the situation.
We need to look towards the positive things and hold out the believe that we will survive and be made stronger through these tough times. Thanks for continuing to share your thoughts and key information on silver and the US$.
You would have to be blind not to see the demise of the dollar, and a fool for not exchanging those dollars for pm. But what about people holding Canadian dollars and Aussie dollars? Should we be scrambling to get out of our dollars too?
keep on keeping on John. Bought a few hundred dollars worth of seeds the other day. Silver and gold are great but I need some food to go with my metals.
Just think if the demand for gold and dollars was exchanged. What if all those who demand dollars actually demanded gold and silver instead? Now, that would be everybody and his mother...and the price for P.M.'s would soar beyond imagination.
I still see people here in the USA talking about selling their jewelry and what a great price they are getting. They are trading it for dollars. "Everybody and their mother" just has awakened yet. I don't think they will until it's much later and even then they won't know what they missed. It's one day at a time, one paycheck at a time, where's my next beer, which game is on tonight, XBOX, and on and on. They just aren't interested in hearing about that boring economics stuff.
only thing that frustrates me is while I type this, the US markets are crushing gold and silver gains over the past 30 minutes. All gains from after US closing have been wiped out already.
Yeah... The Western markets come online, PM prices are suppressed as much as can be accomplished, then the Asian markets come online and buy in the dips, raising prices, again.
Lol i havent even heard your video but what a great video name. I hope Mike(FeverIAm) gets to see this.
So should i buy silver now? Looking at the technicals i thought gold was gonna drop so i sold some of mine, waiting for a drop in silver(since they move as one) And then get my silver at a cheaper price.
Anyway is this a good time to buy silver?
Or to say it another way, whats the chances silver/gold has a small pull back? Ill buy in a week or 2 no matter what happens.
I always here the terms deflation and inflation massacred. Inflation of US Dollar = increase in M3, deflation is the opposite. That's it! Now , let's talk about prices. Typically prices go up in a inflationary environment and go down in a deflationary. In our current environment, we obviously have inflation. We will see an increase in prices of commodities, food, etc. What we are seeing is a decrease in these outrageous fictitious prices of housing and all this worthless paper out there.
It ..would.. cause inflation wouldn't it, because the US like us in Australia buys every thing from over seas. So a weaker dollar means it cost more for Americans.
I'm planning to buy yuan soon, because i think when our real estate market in Australia pops it will bring the Aussie dollar
Don't feel bad about it. If the dollar keeps sinking it'll probably be the end of our industrial war complex and a lot of our gov's other evil activities abroad and at home. That would thrill me. If there's a revolution here, that would be a good thing too. We need it. Don't dread what is coming.
LisaJ, the afghan war has unfortunately resulted in the production of cocaine estimated to earn up to 500 million a year in profits. Just thought I would throw you that fact, not implying any link between MIC (military-industrial complex) and drugs. Not me.
I`m partaking a very fat XO here, initally a double, one for you and one for me and then I felt it would be wrong not to finish what was left in the bottle. To health.
A rapid decline in the US$ would lead to massive deflation, at least in the short term I would think.
Many international companies hold US$ and they would be seriously under capitalised and would need to raise funds via assets sales. It could get very ugly, if the US$ declines too quickly.
I subscribed to the LaRouche PAC channel a few months ago and completely agree with your take. There is something cultish about the LaRouche youth, their reverence for "Lyn," and tendency to attribute all the wrongs of the world to the British Empire, but they're interesting nonetheless. LaRouche himself is pretty "with it" for a man of his age.
It 's hard to wrap one's mind around all this, & that would make any one nervous, yet the the trends are clear, but timing the markets is not easy.
Good point that hyperinflation will essentially be the result of a loss of confidence. There's tons of deflation out there offsetting the inflation in the system. The commerical real estate and other collapsing may postpone the demise of the dollar as many will focus the deflationary. Gold is only now going where it should have been.
We May and I stress may have more time before it's PANIC TIME. Things are getting weird and one should be nervous. I would think heading towards spring will be a period to watch closely as things get even more weird. The USDI can bounce off of 72 once again, yet I would Very concerned about a third retest at 72. Get things in order for 'panic time' now. If we are holding PM, that is a major part of an insurance policy. My guess, look for gold to go much higher in Nov.
John thanks for all you have done to encourage and educate us. Listening to you helped me "pull the trigger" to purchase silver. I thought you were crazy buying silver on credit card! Now I feel stupid with only 10% PM invest.
PM's, will help us but they will never come close to giving us peace. I only know of only one thing that can do that and it is faith in something bigger than all this CRAP. I pray that we all have something bigger than silver to lean on during the times ahead.
your focus is what people are doing - not what the banks are doing. your right about deflation for things that require credit. houses - cars - etc. but inflation for everything else (that doesnt require credit)
I think where you need to re-think your line of thought is not what the ppl are doing (or how they are functioning) but how the banks are now functioning.
they are not lending to consumers - too risky - but they are making a KILLING in the carry trade (inflationary)
What I will say is that the bucket is leaking faster than the tap is fulling it. Nothing to do with perspectives, etc.
This is the building of the bubble and I might ride it up with you guys but when the returns on whatever people are putting their money into do not come back as they expect....ill be there to short. IF this rally contunues I will have to joint you guys on the long side or equities and commodities but i will short when it comes to dawn what everyone is doing.
LL as an analyst is good, as a politician he's, I agree, scarry. Ron Paul will have to be the saviour of America, returning our dollar to it's golden roots, but we have to wait until 2012 and I am not sure what, if anything, will be left to save by then. Things are moving fast, I am watching with keen interest from central Europe.
Isn't the method by which US embassies are buying more and more foreign currency as the dollar weakens is making the USD support broad and therefore more gradual in its devalue? Probably the mecanism to justify an eventual multinational currency?
As per Bob Chapman, I agree we are looking at $40.00 USDX then a formal transition into the next fiat with world wide devaluation. The wealth transfers to the architects and PM investors.
I think a lot of us are awakening extra early in the US instinctively knowing we are witnessing history. It's exciting to see the History Channel real-time as it is equally nauseating despite owning gold/silver/mining stocks. I pitty my friends who have laughed at me for the last 12 months.
This biggest implication for this has to be China and Japan stairing at their enormous balance sheets shrinking before their eyers with their hands hovering over the big red button with the word's "Dump The Doller" written on it.
Having said that I don't think we're there yet. I think this slide is premature. I'm anticipating a lot more deflation before we see hyperinflation in the doller. That said it is practically garunteed. Just a case of when. Could be a years away with all this debt.
They'll act the same way they did after the Iraq war was found to be a big money grab farce....act innocent and claim they were only reporting on what the gov't told them....that they are as shocked as the American public, etc. About 99% of them are spineless cowards.
true dat Davinci , I am all butterflies too watching this all unfold in real time ......you guys are doing an awesome job keeping the rest of us informed .. John take some deep breathes it helps ...it's normal to feel nausea after all your efforts and convictions for the past few months are being realized ...you're not alone we're all feeling it too .
Right now my gut tells me that that gold will correct downwards soon. Then, later, who knows when, when a big negative event happens gold will shoot up and the dollar, of course will go down.
What u think about the toughts that the FED might be intressted in a high Goldprice to force inflation and create a new bubble. So Stocks will rise 100% per day... like in zimbabwe...
John. Just want you to know how much we appreciate all your efforts to keep us updated.
Without your insight we may never have purchased silver and it may be one of our best defences during troubled times ahead. Thanks again and try to take it easy.
A person who owns a lot of real estate and rental units could have seen the writing on the wall years ago. And Instead of selling his property shorted the real estate trusts on the market. Just like a farmer does with his crops.
Well, you will find that the RETs are at all time highs even greater than before the collapse.
The point is if they want they can pay them cash if it becomes a problem.
...same pecentage of ignorance to silver/gold reality.
perhaps they will collapse together? along with everything else...scary thought.
i am not saying you are incorrect. it is just that resorting to fiat currencies would be to "paper over" to me. i would find this difficult if anything of this magnitude collapses.
i would prefer a comex collapse over anything else.
When the contract holder asks for deliver the seller won't have the physical product and will have to pay in paper, which will be worthless. People think they are protected by the paper but its only a promise to deliver.
yes, based on metals but is now on fractional steroids, as just about everything else. even the BIS has oversold on the precious metals according to b. chapman. hence, i feel a collapse of any significant market may cause a domino effect that i shudder to think about. i can understand stella's nausea because this could turn real real ugly on 1 broken promise.
Hey don't worry it will be easier to export :) Seriously, I believe the danger is not in any absolute value and more in the volatility itself, if the dollar settle aroud 76, 74 or 72 the important is that it settle not really where it does. In my book, if you have alot of volatility it's worse for economy then simply a lower currency.
thats a good point - but thats making the assumption it will settle...time will tell - but having a debauched reserve currency isnt good either... even if it is stable... if silver went to $1 and stayed there (stable) would that be a good thing for you? (assuming you owned silver)
According to LaRouche the line in the sand has been crossed on Oct 1. Year end for the states 48 are bankrupt.
What do you think is going to happen when the government with a central bank has been counterfeiting money since 1913. Dark Ages coming right up , nothing you can do to stop it. Unless you put the states into bankruptcy re-organization.
After watching this video I have decided to stop waiting and get the rest of my food storage in. I hope and pray nothing happens but I hope you all have gotten prepared.
What concerns me is that 6+ months of food storage is not making me feel the least bit secure in any way - I think with all the changes and hyperinflation - it will just give me a buffer for that long...overall the only way to prepare for what is coming one would have to be totally self sufficient food-wise because I can see the prices will be crazy when all this breaks down.
I know what you're talking about and I'm certain you're right too. I just cringe at the even greater loss of time and money (because they will immediately pass expensive legislation for 'thorough investigations") while people are homeless and hungry.
Yes, the anger will come eventually...but first they'll feel helpless, lost and in shock. They'll initially turn to the gov't to save them (odds are). After they see that the gov't is full of ineffectual, indifferent fuckers, then they'll finally get angry -but who knows how long that'll take.
so i would think that treasury dept would order this and the fed institue this, then iyho this would signal game over. like stella this is overwhelming and the implications unknowable. thank you both and the rest for your ablility in this forum.
Funny thing is, I'm actually sitting here wanting to see some massive manipulation to bring the thing back to the $12 region...... and no, I have no shorts.
I got my morning coffee a few minutes ago. When I went to sleep last night I drempt of a pull back when the eastern markets took over....1 1/2 % up.....
Believe it or not Im dreading the NYMEX opening.
Mixed feelings on the whole thing.
Right now I would trade all profit for stability worldwide....
I'm guessing he saw something that will take place shortly - I had a similar dream a few days ago - and believe it was something that would take place in the not too distant future....
As an American, I'm glad to see that there is someone overseas who has some tangible empathy. I don't mean that in a condescending fashion, but I often feel like people wouldn't mind seeing America collapse. It's good to see a friend out there that feels genuinely bad about our circumstance and the consequences that will follow for us all.

Yes deflation is going to come.
But not in terms of dollars.
In terms of Gold and Silver.
The dow will go up in nominal terms, but in real terms (gold/silver prices) the price will deflate.

It's one day at a time, one paycheck at a time, where's my next beer, which game is on tonight, XBOX, and on and on. They just aren't interested in hearing about that boring economics stuff.

MelodicNightmare 2 years ago
Nice video
It ..would.. cause inflation wouldn't it, because the US like us in Australia buys every thing from over seas. So a weaker dollar means it cost more for Americans.
I'm planning to buy yuan soon, because i think when our real estate market in Australia pops it will bring the Aussie dollar
what do you reckon?

Don't feel bad about it. If the dollar keeps sinking it'll probably be the end of our industrial war complex and a lot of our gov's other evil activities abroad and at home. That would thrill me. If there's a revolution here, that would be a good thing too. We need it. Don't dread what is coming.

InTheSticks1881 2 years ago
Part 2.
InTheSticks1881 2 years ago
Correction. I would be very concerned about a retest at 72 and panic if it broke. Panic now and beat the rush.

How is it getting into the system?
Through credit and do you think that people can pay back that credit?
Nuanceqwest 2 years ago
your focus is what people are doing - not what the banks are doing. your right about deflation for things that require credit. houses - cars - etc. but inflation for everything else (that doesnt require credit)
I think where you need to re-think your line of thought is not what the ppl are doing (or how they are functioning) but how the banks are now functioning.
they are not lending to consumers - too risky - but they are making a KILLING in the carry trade (inflationary)

LL as an analyst is good, as a politician he's, I agree, scarry. Things are moving fast, I am watching with keen interest from central Europe.

Isn't the method by which US embassies are buying more and more foreign currency as the dollar weakens is making the USD support broad and therefore more gradual in its devalue? Probably the mecanism to justify an eventual multinational currency?
sebas28mtl 2 years ago
As per Bob Chapman, I agree we are looking at $40.00 USDX then a formal transition into the next fiat with world wide devaluation. The wealth transfers to the architects and PM investors.

Could be a years away with all this debt.

i am not saying you are incorrect. it is just that resorting to fiat currencies would be to "paper over" to me. i would find this difficult if anything of this magnitude collapses.
i would prefer a comex collapse over anything else.
moofph 2 years ago
Isn't the comex based on "Fiat" gold and silver ?
When the contract holder asks for deliver the seller won't have the physical product and will have to pay in paper, which will be worthless. People think they are protected by the paper but its only a promise to deliver.
boots920 2 years ago
yes, based on metals but is now on fractional steroids, as just about everything else. even the BIS has oversold on the precious metals according to b. chapman. hence, i feel a collapse of any significant market may cause a domino effect that i shudder to think about. i can understand stella's nausea because this could turn real real ugly on 1 broken promise.
moofph 2 years ago
Hey don't worry it will be easier to export :) Seriously, I believe the danger is not in any absolute value and more in the volatility itself, if the dollar settle aroud 76, 74 or 72 the important is that it settle not really where it does. In my book, if you have alot of volatility it's worse for economy then simply a lower currency.
Ignare 2 years ago
thats a good point - but thats making the assumption it will settle...time will tell - but having a debauched reserve currency isnt good either... even if it is stable... if silver went to $1 and stayed there (stable) would that be a good thing for you? (assuming you owned silver)

What do you think is going to happen when the government with a central bank has been counterfeiting money since 1913. Dark Ages coming right up , nothing you can do to stop it. Unless you put the states into bankruptcy re-organization.
