Actually, the changing songs was the best part. In fact there is a 25 minute version of that "song" that contains every Macross song ever.

This was a great ending to a great addition to Macross series. With a lot of nostalgic references to the old series - like this last battle. It's hommage to Macross Motion Picture - "Do you remember Love" very reminscent of the ending scene in that movie x100. When I saw this ending in the last episode I couldnt help but get all emotional.. just plain awesomeness for any Macross fan.

Just one stupid question - why don't the explosions from the VB-6's shells line up with where the shells actually were at detonation?

Various reasons.

Targeting error from the crash, fold distortions, armour piercing rounds, translation from 2D targeting to 3D relief and many other variables, such as the tracers running out of chemicals.

Check 4:51-2 for the shell then 4:54 for the boom - the best example is the leftmost shell partway down the tower next to the bridge - it literally has to move up two head heights for its explosion to be where it was ...

Then again, I'm complaining about a situation where it is used as a screen for one 400 m-tall mecha to punch out its gun so the x km tall mecha can gut-punch the other, so I think I'll ignore it for now :)

i just realize after a lot of replayin, but some of the sound is a bit off with the animation, maybe hey rush it and mess up the synchro?

most noticable sound delay is the Macross Punch lol

the smash sound is .5 sec after the impact

They were wondering what the aimo song meant and why it brought the vajra there.

The song is actually a vajra love song that attracts the vajra to other species of life every 1000 years (I think it's 1000...) so they can crossbreed with other forms of life.
