Finally a "light" that bridges the gap, not just another projector in a pan tilt head, i can see this being much more interesting to amalgamating into a lighting design rather than full blown video (which has hard square edges)
The beam is rectangular. The digital iris makes it circular. Putting that aside I think your point still stands. One thing to consider with instruments like the DL3 is the software that is available to enhance its performance with other projectors when used in groups to make one image etc...
It would be a bridge if there was any light in that...
Have you seen it in The Real World? Very poor, like a 250w spot...

How were you getting multiple colors at once towards the end? Can it do full color video or were you using a split color wheel effect?
