In an M1 Abarms tank an ammo cook off wouldn't kill the crew. They are protected from it by a blast sheild and the fact the explosion is directed up wards due to the two doors on top off the tank behind the tank commander and loader hatches blow open during an ammo cook off.
If it was an ammo cook off the would would end, because they have infinite ammo. :P
