As great as Marciano was this fight just tells me he certainly wouldn't of not beat Charles in a P4P match hell he probably wouldn't even beat Charles at his own weight in this fight if Charles would of never declined from killing Sam Baroudi in a match giving him some guilt from it which made him change his style up because of that.

God Marciano looks two weight classes smaller than Charles and Charles was considered a small heavyweight.

Marciano fought an OLD washed up Joe Louis, an OLD 38 and 39 year old Walcott an OLD 39 yr (light heavyweight) Archie Moore and a way past his prime Ezzard Charles (light heavyweight) He ducked ALL of the legitimate heavyweights like Jimmy Slade, Nino Valdes, Hurricane Jackson and then retired when he saw Floyd Patterson and Sonny Liston! He is like Gerry Cooney who beat old men and got blasted when he actually fought someboby!.Only Marciano NEVER fought ANYBODY!

what a fight, those 2 really were in shape to blast away AND take shots like that for 15 rounds. Just imagine sam Peter or Lennox Lewis trying to fight that hard for that long!! No way. Things just aint the same as they used to be.

Small heavyweight usually have better stamina, just look at Joe Frazier and Evander Holyfield.

@3rdStoneObliterum You think any man could take as many shots from Lennox lewis as these guys did here? Certainly no. Different weight class of fighter (and it is), different style of fighting. You could just as easily watch a welterweight fight and say that Marciano could never content with their speed. He wouldn't have to or try to.

@3rdStoneObliterum You maybe right but i woudn't put Peter and Lenox Lewis in the same sentence . Lenox was was just another league . And i agree that fighters back then had great stamina - guys like Sullivan or Fitzsimmons they went like over 30 rounds ...but why should Lenox go even like 10 with them ? Why not just ....knock them out ?
