Every single governor or leader who ended up being picked to be a vice president has ALWAYS said to the press, "no, I have the job I want right now, am not looking to be vice president."

That is because what they are doing when asked is the job they are hired to do. They cannot say otherwise. It would be wrong to the people who elected you to do so.

Pawlenty is a renewable energy guy. Anti-coal, anti-oil and wanted to reduce CO2 emissions in Minnesota.  He's a global warming alarmist and if McCain chooses him, Obama WILL be president.

Stupid. Got backed into a corner and denied peevishly. Should have said "No one runs for Vice President, and I don't currently plan on being Vice President" Obviously if McCain gets the nomination he'd be at the top of the list. This is just dumb. Will be used against him if he is indeed the VP Nominee. Again, stupid. Things are looking better for "Vice President Mark Sanford."
