Way to go lady! I know how hard this is, I started skating lessons at the age of 54 and I'm now doing Skate UK Level 9 but it's a challenge! It's never too late to learn. I love to skate and I'm on the ice about 4 hours a week. Good luck to this lady, I hope she continues to skate for a very long time.

A friend of mine started in adult skating in her 50's. She was inspired by Brian Boitano (she actually trained at his rink) to start skating, and she was pretty darn good!

@devonport1029 you would be surprised at how large the adult skating community is... I skated as a kid, quit for about 5 years and now I skate on the Adult track. The turnout at Adult Nationals is just amazing. anyone that says that nobody watches or cares about Adult skating needs a reality check. Just because we're older than the mainstream skaters doesn't mean we're boring.... lol.

@feirendencer you can start skating at any age and if you start late (after twenties) you can compete internationally as an adult skater in adult competitions. A coach that does not know this is not very bright. Just find another coach who is willing to train you. Best of luck,and its not too late at all.

(Honestly how many people watch adult skating......almost no1 watches singles) I started skating at 10 (very old) And now that i reached juvenile and am 13 i have to compete in open-juvenile! Making it very hard to get to higher levels
