Ok hun...I made this for Christmas dinner and.........IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! My husband liked it sooooo much, he just about tried to eat the whole pie himself!!! I had to make another one!! I feel like I stumbled on a gold mine with your recipes, girl keep up the good work, very impressive..I'm lovin every minute of your vids!!! Happy Holidays!!!
Made this for Thanksgiving too! Along with your homemade pie crust and it was so, so good! Thanks for the vid and pls keep them coming! Thanks again!
I made this for Thanksgiving! YUM! You are totally right-on when you say that toasting the pecans makes a huge difference. It really does. Thanks Monique!
looks good...we add a bit of caramel in ours and we keep the pecans whole...We also butter the crust for a flaky flaky tecture...I'm going to try your recipe though because it looks yummy :-)
Just came back to say that mine turned out GREAT!!! I used your homemade crust recipe too and it was fantastic! I burned my mouth on a hot pecan after I toasted them and again on the hot pie because I was too impatient to wait for it to cool! ROFL - Also, my Walmart didn't have the vanilla you used so I used my regular vanilla. And, I mixed my pecans in the batter and then sprinkled some on top. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!
You better cook, girl. I knew when I saw the flour go in there, I was sold. Because the flour is crucial in this recipe. You just go head with your bad self!
I'm going to try this next week as a test for Thanksgiving. I usually mix my pecans in the filling. Hmm...maybe I'll add just a few and put the rest on top like you did. Of course I'll be back to let you know how it turned out. Stay tuned! :-D
mmmm that looked so good!!! my granny kinda makes her's the same way but her ingredients are different and she mixes whole pecans into the batter before she pours it into the pie crust
I tried making pecan pie, putting the nuts on top of the mixture and it turned out a puffy mess. My mom suggested I pour the mixture on top of the pecans. How did you keep the filling from puffing?
@ItsMeFawn I see a lot of pecans pies where the pecans are added right in the batter. I've never done it that way, but I hear they will rise to the top. Let me know how it turns out if you try it.
where is the link for "how to toast pecans?"
