  • doesnt this shit remind you of portal...or is it just me?... lol

  • @djtes90 i was thinking the same thing

  • Aperture Science...

  • what is the back ground music called?

  • @yoyoyoman666 yeah and you just reminded me how you have terrible grammar.

  • The first fps measurement is rounded. It's actually 63.87 fps.

What else are you going to do late at night on a computer eh? :D

  • These aren't perfectly accurate calculations because they only calculated them in 2d and the pellet will have a very small amount of motion in a third plane.

  • this one for paintball would be nice

  • in this and 3 voice isnt anymore like portal

  • Those math equasions are hard to follow along with

  • LoL Portal style =D

  • portal much?

  • what happens when its on its side, like it will be about 99% of the time when it hits the ground?!

  • wats wit the liquid stuff?

  • what happens if it falls on its side?

  • yep just refill the bbs and gas

  • shotgun shot more bbs then mini gun :\

  • yes

  • 0:07-0:26, did u say nigga moment

  • u fail at copying portal

  • aaaaaaaah to much math!

  • good job copying portal

  • good job being a little faggot

  • sexy.

  • so cool

  • yeah!!! my last part..coming out

  • Does 0:31 remind any guys of anything?

  • lol...

  • ur queer

  • yaa but i cant put my finger on it????

  • lol

  • yes it does

  • lol

  • @MalarkyMan15 HMM....... WHAT COULD THAT POSSIBLY MEAN ; )

  • @MalarkyMan15 reminds me of the subject i hate

  • @MalarkyMan15

    er..... no

  • @MalarkyMan15 urine?

  • it looks like a liquid comes out the grenade

  • yeah. a WHOLE lot of gas has to propel it

  • It's a portal reference smart one.

  • Comment removed

  • Idgaf what it's referencing, my point still stands.

  • Do you have any idea what this commercial is trying to replicate? Or are you just to frustrated that the word 'device' is above your vocabulary?

  • learn to portal. noob.

  • is it reusable

  • yes

  • whats that liqued

  • its a chemical called "Di carbon Dioxide" aka water

  • "di carbon dioxide" would be hydrogen peroxide

  • that is not water. water is H2O that is

    2C2O

  • Di hydrogen monoxide. aka H2O

  • gas

  • i would have purchased one, but they are EXPENSIVE i would rather peg someone with a rubber grenade lol. for the price. although one day i will buy this

  • i failed geometry

  • haha i likw the animations

  • what are these grenades for any ways?

  • airsoft, its like paintball but with plastic bbs and real looking guns

  • oh coool

  • Diablo1172: What are regular grenades for?

  • um the found the angles then the distance and used a D=VT equation to find the velocity of the BBs

  • yeah, algebra/trig

  • SOOO MUCH MATH!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!

  • not very practical on combat situation were adrenaline is pumping you cant feel the damn thing when it hit ya

  • They would still be out. doesn't matter how fast its going.

  • What's next, the Aperture Science Gravitational Explosive Device? Directs all BB pellets hurtling toward your target, even your enemies?

  • LOL! Portal trailer ripoff

  • I still can't believe that I understood everything from 0:30 to 1:30. looks like that "math will eventually apply" thing was right=D

  • damn.... i dont think you would even feel the bbs if you were hit in the vest or something...

  • it would if they landed at your feet

  • if you think about it, it averages at about 75 FPS

now, take like 200 BB's hitting you ant 75fps at once, you'd feel it.

  • well ur supost to throw it

  • Interesting.

  • another question i forgot to ask: is there a difference in speed between using green gas and propane??

  • Green gas is propane, dressed up to look fancy and epically overpriced =D

  • but what kind of bb's were used to make the top speed be 137 fps?? thats my main question

  • green gas is propane with silicon in it

  • haha u joker

  • please answer this question: so the fastest speed is 137fps: is that with .12's or .2's??? again i would appreciate it if you could answer this, cuz this determines whether i buy this or not

  • Well as anyone with intelligence could tell you, a .12 will always be faster than a .2.

However, the energy of the projectile will be the same regardless of weight. It's like the difference of getting shot with a .50 round and a .308 round with the same amount of powder. The .50 round will be slower, but hit just as hard as the faster .308 round.

Moral of the story: It makes no difference.

  • True, but he was asking about the fps. A .12g bb at 137 fps will have significantly less energy than a .20g bb at similar speeds.

  • Also true. But that is obvious.

A .12g bb will accelerate much faster than a .2g, consequently being ejected at a higher velocity. However, there would be no difference in energy because of the difference in mass.

That's just physics. It makes no difference, .12 or .2.

  • Again true, but the OP asked whether the FPS in the video was measured with the .12g or .20g bb. If it was the .12g bb, that would mean that the grenade has significantly less power than the .20g.

However, it is obvious that they did use the .20g bbs to measure the velocity.

  • that doesnt shoot very fast at all, I mean the grenade is way cool but for $100 i want something that someone can feel.

  • you are not a true fan

  • ug, mac's voice is so dang annoying

  • just came out of the 7 grade the math part i as like ahh shit i hope i dont have to learn this yet but i do

  • WOW. Be more of a bitch, please...

  • lol i liked that math part

  • I hope Valve will sue whoever made this

Search for "Portal" and you will see

  • ahah love the last comment on the video. Taking Trig right now and now i understand why.

  • I new I should have payed attention to the pythagorean theorum!!!

  • I forgot to say that if the grenade got too long fuse, its gonna get thrown back!! Thats why: USE SMALL FUSE!!

  • Actually, Airsoft Innovations messed up on their physics when they calculated the FPS. They calculations are fine for the setup they have in the video but in the field, that grenade is going to be spinning, not stationary. So some of the energy that those BB's have in this video would be going into rotating the grenade. The average FPS can still be calculated though, you just need to take into account the angular momentum of the grenade. But they didn't do that. So the real FPS is lower.

  • It needs a 10 minutes timer, to be used like in the movie!!

    Make commercials look real!

  • Still, it is useful when still airbourne. Gonna be like a hit-n-run rocket! AUCH!!

  • Good catch.

The grenade seems to do one full revolution in 6 seconds on the first video. That works out to one spin in 0.06s in real time (video playback 30f/s vs. record 3000f/s). This gives rise to a rotation rate of about 16.7rev/s. I'm looking at rotation for the period that pellets are being ejected, not at the end when the grenade has been further spun up dumping the remainder of the gas charge.

  • The grenade is about 4cm diameter between the centre of each opposite bb passage which give an active circumference of ~12.5cm.

    This gives rise to a surface speed of about 208cm/s = 2.08m/s = 7fps

Good catch York. About 7fps should be deducted from the velocity for a fixed grenade.

I was actually hoping this wouldn't be noticed. I tried showing the accounting of velocity loss in that video, but it seemed to overcomplicate the presentation for a 5% change.

  • The grenade's mass is a fair bit heavier than the pellet charge which gives a high reaction mass compared to the pellets. Conservation of momentum would have the grenade rotating at a significantly slower surface speed to balance the momentum transfer given to the lighter pellets flying out the sides.

  • can you use green gas with it? cuz to use propane u need an adapter like the green gas bottle nozzle

  • green gas is propane with silicon mixed in

  • i didnt ask what green gas is i know what it is. im asking if it can use green gas.

  • But u said, above that u can use propane so obviously u can use green gas

  • i asked if you "Could" with a question mark

  • Green gas IS propane.

  • no. it most certainly is not.

  • no, it actually is. all green gas is is propane with silicone oil thrown inside of it. that's why propane adapters work

  • what gave you that idea?

  • hey do you know if .12's or .2's were used to make the speed be 137 fps? cuz im probably not gonna get it if .12's were used

  • It says at the end of the vid that it's propellant is propane, dipshit.

  • How much money will these things cost?

  • 90 dollars.

    Total rip off.

  • yet its reusable forever, just refill the CO2 and 180 BBs

  • ...errm, it uses gas.

  • That is actually some neat math.

  • isn't it to weak... 67-137 fps.. IMHO noone will even feel the hit...

  • That is a bit slow, but I think they'll feel it. It won't hurt.

  • If some people don't feel 330 fps from 5 meters , than how will they feel 67 fps from 2 meters ? I think factory should have made it stronger... 3 times stronger.

  • The fact that they have hundreds of BBs flying at them is a pretty good giveaway of whether they're hit or not.

  • first post!!! woot, see my vids.
