Yes, Hugleberthumperdink I agree. I was at a gig last week where the bass player drank cup of coffee and ate cereal bar behind the pianist who was rabbiting on a bit until it was his turn to come back in. Brilliant. Jx
It's a fragment from a recording session in a studio, from 1950, the material was to be used by film director Gjon Mili. Now it's featured on a DVD about jazz improvisation if I'm right. The rest of the session features among others Charlie Parker and Ella Fitzgerald.
And two thumbs up on the Brushes comment. If any one drummer gets cocky, throw them some Brushes and say play. He also used nice still brushes. Even harder to play with.
