cause i have a 1 gen i pod right but later on i found out i can upgrade and buy the features that the 2 gen i pod has so i have an ipod that is 1st gen but has every thing the same as the 2 gen excluding the speakers and the voume obliviously haha

i downloaded quickpwn and i opened it and clicked the blue arrow....i noticied that in this video it searches for the firmware automatically...when i get to this part i have to manually search and when i find it it says "firmware error string"

if you can turn your music on and without any earphones plugged it (or attached to any device) still hear this music, then you have a second gen (if you have 2 buttons on the left side for volume controll, its 2nd gen) just search for "jailbreak 2nd gen ipod touch)

its probably something ur doing wrong with the pressing ur home and power buttons. remember, u gotta do that almost perfect for this to work.

iv got quickpwn but when i connect it, the bar at the bottom doesnt move, it wont even come up with the picture of my itouch. i have the 2.2 version so i dont know whats wrong??

hmm.... well when u connect it the bar doesn't move, thats just for the entire progress. all that should happen is that the little blue arrow in the bottem right corner should turn blue. if it doesn't, try clicking on it anyway. if this doesn't work, i would try re-installing quickpwn. oh, and make sure u have a first gen ipod touch (or any kind of iphone will work) NOT 2nd gen ipod touch

that is very strange, and i believe that you have a first gen. if that is the case, i would just try to look for a 2nd gen ipod touch jailbreak, to see if that works

it should, unless you have a second gen ipod touch (that means you can hear music without putting headphones in. in that case search for "jailbreak 2ng gen ipod touch"

You have a second gen ipod touch, this is first gen.

.. that is weird... id make sure you downloaded it for windows if you have a windows, or for mac if u have a mac. otherwise, reinstall it.

well that means you probably have a ipod touch 2nd gen, and i have been recently informed that they have made a way to jailbreak it (not positive tho) just search jailbreak 2nd gen ipod touch.

i get up to the part were it searches for the firmware, but the nothing happens, it doesn't search for my ipods firmware automatically, it tells me to brows for it. is firmware something i have to download?

well a few other people have had that problem, it is probably because you have a second generation ipod touch. if you don't, then i have no idea what is wrong unless you don't have 2.2 firmware

well the version and the generation are two different things. but yeah, thats why you can't jailbreak it. as soon as they make a jailbreak for second generation, ill make a video on it.
