From my experience in Japan, even if they wanted you to stop taking video, they are usually very nice about it..ESPCIALLY to gaijin....

Gomen...but I filmed in a Morning Musume concert in Tokyo a few years ago.. it's easy, you just have to be a bit creative.....but I did not think of that reason. However, usually, they only stop you from shooting at a paid for concert. I'm not sure, but a free concert in a public place, they can't legally take your camera. Why didn't you go up to the balcony??
