  • guys, this is shot with a video camera, the voice on the game is edited perfectly and recorded with high quality..... things

  • Butterfinger,

In case you did believe that Grey was actually the voice actor who played Niko, he wasn't, as was pointed out before.

They just hired him for the Toronto game launch. He did a very good job though.

  • Gray did an okay job with his imitation. Props to him for a good effort.

  • We isn't niko bellic

  • the guy next to him kinda sounds like dimitri

  • niko bellic comes from serbia

  • he sounds like roman

  • he sounds like him if u listen carefully

  • its not niko bellic.. this guy isnt da dude that did da voice

  • He did a pretty good job copying Hollick, considering he'd only learned the part for the event less than six hours before.

  • bitch that doesnt sound hsit like niko the real voice actor is michael hollick

  • And the stupid people who can't read still keep coming. Oh 04A13, where are you now?

  • ahhhh that's so cool!!!!

  • No problem. Would explain why people kept on making those comments.

We'll see if that changes anything.

  • *sigh*

Guess I'll have to change that description. Make it a little more clear that Jason Gray isn't the same person as Michael Hollick.

  • Uh, yeah. We know. That's Jason Gray, an actor from Toronto who played Niko for the launch night.

Even if you didn't read the description, there are so many comments before your two that you'd think you might have actually seen us mention it before.

  • isnt that Roman Bellic?

  • Haha. Nah, he played Niko for that event.

  • umm doesnt even sound like him

  • thats not him ive seen him before on gametrailers tv

  • Dear lord! Do you people not read? No, this is not Michael Hollick. However, Michael Hollick was not playing Niko for the game's launch in Toronto!

  • thats not the dude hes a phony

  • Haha! That's so Family Guy!

  • hes a big fat phony!

  • K. I stand corrected. :p

  • michael hollick is the one who played niko bellick T_T

  • That's right, he was. That's an interesting username you've got there.

  • me?

  • that sounds like a fucking bird getting fucked !

  • When they said "use your words" that's not what they meant.

  • he doesn't sound like niko bellic

  • I don't think he sounded a thing like him.

  • That's cool. At least you actually paid attention to the fact that he was just playing Niko for the launch promotion, unlike some of the people who commented saying things like "MICHAEL HOLLICK is the real NIKO..fake".

    Cheers.

  • I know how to read descriptions...unlike some people, lol.

  • Quite seriously, I'm happy to hear that. I know it's funny, but it's also pretty sad that people are like that.

    Kudos to you!

  • he looks more like one of the russian gangsters you play online on turf war in gta4

  • I'd say that, for Microsoft, that was close enough. Hehe.

  • Thats not him

  • Him who? Michael Hollick, no. Jason, the actor playing Niko Bellic for the game's launch, yes.

  • this was so stupid.. i saw it on this week in xbox. but it looked fun

  • I haven't gotten to see the actual, official video yet. Could you PM me a link?

  • hmm actually, know i thought this was that big party launch for gta iv. i think this is part of it. as well, i'm sorry, i don't know a video of that on youtube. just search gta 4 release party or launch party on google or something. thats what i do.

  • Hey, no problem. I'll try to find it that way. This interview was just a part of our coverage of the game's launch at the Dundas Square Best Buy in Toronto.

Microsoft got Jason to play Niko six hours before the event started.

  • oh that's cool!

  • Is that the real niko bellic from grand theft auto iv because he sounded alot like him.

  • Jason is not Michael Hollick, no. However, he is a professional actor, and that accent happened to be in his repertoire.

  • lol what did he do ?

  • If you haven't watched The Con video, that should explain the night's events.

  • ahhhhh....

  • Hehe. Yeah. It added some fun to the night though, since they didn't have any game demos or other promotions going on.

  • thats really good, the voice of Niko Bellic is Michael Hollick

  • Yeah. Jason managed to pull together a pretty decent impression, especially for somebody who was only really introduced to the character three hours before.

  • the real voice of nikoe bellic is michael hollick

  • Indeed.

  • gay

  • Jeez, for a guy who loves GTA so much I'd have expected you'd love to see people having fun with it.

  • nico bellic the double in real life not the voice actor

  • Not quite, unless Toronto was the only place they had the promotion. In which case, I guess...

  • yeah why not?

it could be even a woman who can play niko...

    he don't really look like a Niko:P

but yeah i think its real:)

  • Officially speaking, you're kind of right. A woman can voice act as a man or boy. Take Nancy Cartwright or Brittany Murphy, for example.

  • FAKE!

  • *Slaps forehead and shakes head*

Seriously? Are there really that many people out there that can't figure out that this is an actor playing Niko? Especially after he says his name is Jason and he's playing Niko?

  • WTF!? are you serius? do you think that this is the guy that make the voice to niko ?

  • No. I think he's the guy who played Niko at the game's launch at the Dundas Square Best Buy in downtown Toronto, just like we wrote in the video's description.

  • i dont know what you mean -.-

  • Just take a look at the comments just before your first one (my discussion with NAWELYORR) and you should get what I mean.

  • that didnt help at all -.- you know who make the voice to nikko beliic rigth ? beacuse i know

  • Yes, I do, so let me explain this simply.

Michael Hollick is the actual voice behind Niko in the game. Jason was just an actor! For the game launch! Got it yet?

  • he's NOT an NIKO BELLIC its fake

  • You're quite good at pointing out the obvious. I'm just wondering why it's necessary. Or are you like that guy in Family Guy who sees Peter "play" the piano and calls him a phony for the rest of the episode?

  • is he NIKO or somebody else?

  • He's an actor, playing Niko as part of the game's launch back in April.

  • oh kk

  • is the jewish guy dimitri.

  • Haha! Sorry, no :p. I'm Eli.

  • My description or Kayqwik's?

    Either way, please explain.

  • Rockstar may have made 6000 million, but they have other to pay off besides the voice character, also include artist, composers, programmer, producer, packaging, advertising and more. In game development, programmers earn the highest of everyone in the team so 100 grand is considered highly paid for a voice actor.

  • While I don't disagree with you, because that is most certainly true, there should still be enough left to pay the voice actors more.

  • Didn't he ask for more money late May?

    It was in the news.

  • heard the guy who did the voice only made $100,000 while the game has already taken in $600 million. dumbass should have asked for more money

  • Contract negotiations for voice actors are a bit different from any other form of media.

I suggest checking out the original New York Times article "A Blockbuster Video Game Star and his less-than-stellar paycheck" to find out more about that.

  • they wont give him a dime other than what they already have,

  • I wouldn't expect them to. That, however, is the point itself. This is something that is going to come up as Screen Actors Guild actors are used more and more in video games.

  • over 600million and counting. you'd think they could break him off maybe 5or6 million to shut him up

  • It's not Rockstar or Take-Two that he would be dealing with in this situation though, it's the union.

As he says in the article, "I don't blame Rockstar. I blame our union for not having the agreements in place to protect the creative people who drive the sales of these games."

Like I said, contract negotiations are different for video games. Check out the article and you'll see what I mean.

  • hahaha he doesnt even sound exactly like niko lol

  • Not bad for a guy who only had a couple of hours to learn the part though.

  • MICHAEL HOLLICK is the real NIKO..fake

  • Did you even watch the whole interview?

  • why should i..i found it kinda boring after 23 secs...sorry gooosh

  • Ah. I see. Well, short explanation is that he's an actor who got cast to play Niko for the launch promotion in Toronto.

If you watch the rest of the interview you'll also get to see him out of character.

  • That guy playing nico did really good.I WOULDNT BE SURPPRISED IF SOMEONE TRied calling security.

  • From what he told us, it sounded like security was about to call the actual cops. It ended up being a fun night though.

  • It did get pretty crazy near rhe end of the night.

  • awesome video!
