  • I used to get piano lessons from Sonny Chua.

  • sonny chua is my school's music director and he's my teacher! LOL

  • @jaylee1324 what school might that be?

  • @eternalrecreation macrob

  • I got it in the book called Piano Music of Sonny Chua V1 (Midnight Editions) from Ellaways music in brisbane, but it is published by MIdnight editions.

I'm close, i can nearly play the whole piece non stop except for the last section with full on octaves and the sudden rush of semiquavers.

anyway, the sound quality is terrible

  • WOW!!! that was amazing. im doing sonnys gangster suite for my year 12 and i would so love to learn this cause the rest of his music is so fun to play i guess this will be as well. can you please tell me what book this song is found in or a website that sells the sheet music

  • @Jooma17

If you haven't already found the music you can get it from Zephyr music (online) which is based in Sydney. I got it from Latham's music which is in Newcastle. It was in a book called Piano Music of Sonny Chua but I think you can also get it on its own.

I'm planning on doing this for my HSC next year and I'm about half way through!

  • can I have the sheet music to this ?

  • I love this piece, it must be so much fun to play! Can you tell me what the largest handspan required in it is? I can't reach much more than an octave so I don't want to waste my money on the sheet music if it's overly stretchy.

  • @TheTinyMozarts

you would be fine if i can do it..give a try and you'll like it :)

  • Great job, I searched for this and was surprised when I recognised Monash uni's auditorium! I'm currently studying piano there, and this piece is still being played amongst my fellow piano students.

  • Am I the only one who thinks the audio and video get a bit out of sync? Very nice video nonetheless.

  • A very egotistical piece by Sonny to demonstrate his knowledge of music. Almost like a encyclopaediac approach haha.

    Very well performed.

You must help me with this though, after the first Mozart-esque variation, there's something between that and the Ragtime variation, what's that one?

  • Very Impressive. Undoubtedly the best I've heard this played in a long time.

    Where's this performed?

  • Thank you... I performed this piece two years ago at Monash Uni, Melbounre
