  • I wonder where one could get a copy of the domo soft ware? Is it GNU?

  • The more i watch this the more freaked out i get. it reminds me of a child. it tries to put the syrup bottle in the cup even tho its told to put both on the shelf. that means it remembers putting stuff in a cup from a previous lesson.

  • Is it remote control?

  • scary.

  • Domo could win a robot pageant.

If it could cook 90% of my meals for me ... cooking a meal ain't that hard. He can already shelve objects. Now he just needs to learn unscrewing caps, chopping cabbage, buttering a sandwich. Most importantly - put dishes into the dishwasher, and take them out and stack them, unless the dish isn't clean after the dishwasher finished with it - then put it in a designated area. This means he must also learn to wash his hands.

What if he tries to shelve YOU!?

  • so nice

  • really good job. now fold my cloths..;)

  • amazing work

  • it sure did take it alot of time just to put it on the shelf

  • yah but it is amazing that it could put it on the shelf.amazing work

  • Nggghhh! EVERY video on robots and the comments read: "Robots will kill us all!! Run for your lives!!!"... Geeeeesch!

  • @Longenholm You ever seen the Terminator?

  • ele é muito bom mesmo . ello es mui bueno .

directo del brazil para usteds (you).

  • Robots will never be able to take controll, this is one of the first smart robots but its not powerful enought to kill someone, but when they are, i bet we have installed something that will prevent robots from doing that.

Anyways, awesome robo! whait 10 years and there will be like robots in most houses :D

  • wait 10 years and there'll be robots in most houses? they said that in 1950.

  • ah, you think you have no robots in your house?

    Here's a few:

    CD/DVD player, even your computer.

your car is really just a big robot - almost every part of it is regulated by computer control.

    pacemakers.

    microwaves.

    can openers

every time you turn on a light-switch, that is also regualted by robots.

    etc. etc. etc.

  • @bonzonobeans

Well, really old comment, but I feel the need to respond. If you're just going to define a "robot" as being anything with any electromechanical parts and some computer, then you've essentially defined robot to be such a broad word as to be meaningless. We already have a word for everything you've just described: electronics. To call them robots really kind of waters down the word robot.

  • @bonzonobeans "every time you turn on a light-switch, that is also regualted by robots."

    Okay...

  • cool.

  • ill laugh when the robot comes alive and kills you

  • That's amazing! I can't believe it! Robots, by 2020 I gotta buy a robot for my house, I'd treat it as if it was my kid.

  • Seems to be a lot smarter then Asimo even though it can't walk.

  • How much did that thing COST? (to build, I mean)

  • did anyone notice how domo resisted its master between time index 3:30 and 3:40?

  • did anyone notice it resisted its master between time index 3:30 and 3:40? The master said in reference to the bottle "Domo, give it" and Domo consequently replied "No give it," and pulled the bottle away from his master. Later Domo relented and gave the bottle to his master but only after showing some resistance. Does anyone also notice that that domo repeats the word "öuch" as if in some strange way domo is reacting to some sort of pain. strange.

  • They cant rule cause they are to slow and we created them so we have something called a gun to kill them!!!!

  • Amazing work MIT! Still, I can't help but notice that while they can build and program the next step in human-cyborg relations, they can't properly expose a video or record the sound! :-)

  • Robots wont rule the world if they but off buttons on their backs.

  • what's he (DOMO) saying?

  • this is beautiful...the new era is coming

  • its so beatuiful to see a machine learn! :)

  • just out of intrest what would happen if the bag exploded, would the robot get confused???????

  • HOTDOG LMFAO!

  • kinda creepy

  • ROBOTs MIGHT RULE THE WORLD

  • They wont rule if they put off buttons on their back.

  • you need to add more fingers so that it can get a better grip, and make the arms able to hold more weight

  • Thats not really the point.

They are teaching it. Testing neural networks and such.

  • man, i wish i was a cyborg, that'd be sweet

  • it is prety cool the eyes have a highly advanced ai that tell the computer in the robot what everything is

  • we probably will start becoming cyborgs in a decade or two, it'll be awesome

  • This makes those robosapiens loook like poo

  • i have three defective robots! a robosapien v2 with bad ballance, a roboraptor that goes crazy alot, and a robopet that sounds like a machine gun whenever it moves. oh and i have to possed furbys.

  • lol

  • New York Times Magazine did an article on robotics and this "little guy" was featured... the new generation of AI is software that "learns." It has to learn the weight, size and shape of all that crap as it goes... very impressive

  • Hey, were can I get me one of those, lol. Nice work there, better than what I have!

  • wow. Needs a faster processor - time to upgrade :)

  • Did anyone notice his hands are the wrong way?

  • cant tell what its saying.

and did anyone else notice that its voice is creepy

  • Ah, a video I can look back and laugh with my personal ASIMO when I am 60. Awsome stuff.

  • Does Domo speak Bocce?

  • Star Wars reference. Nice.

  • Amazing! I love robots!!

    ainda serei engenheiro mecatronico! XPPP

  • Does it have the three laws of robotics? :)

  • This robot is amazing! Keep on showing these amazing videos. Nice to see how far A.I has come. Thank you!

  • Wow MAN ... it needs BIT OF TIME... i conclude by Ray Kurzweils predictions, that robot by 2025 will suppas the threshold of surprize and we will all take it for granted that a robot can think like us in performance and capabilities of cooperative abillities ... keep it up MIT... a sympathizer of science and reason salutes you.
