umm what does that mega man head mark on flame man mean?

The head mark means that I've beaten the level and that there aren't any hidden items for me to get. Some levels have Beat parts (or letters) for me to get and they'll show which letter to get instead of a head.

You should give them a try. They're pretty fun. The difficulty from hardest to easiest so far has been:
