hey man i got bf2 for my mac and it works great. i didnt get it through you but however i still have it and it works without the CD but only for singleplayer, LAN, and like 2 servers. the problem is i cant play multiplayer. i can get on like 2 servers but when i do it kicks me after about 40 seconds saying i have "no packet flow". can you help me be able to mult. cuz supposedly its something wrong with punkbuster. and how do you download the 1.5 patch if it is only for windows?? plz!

ok i tried this and it DOES work. the only different thing is that i installed BF2 on my Mac using crossover, but you got to install patch 1.5 or else it will say "Needs Cd in drive" even though it is in there.

but there is one problem, when i join a multiplayer game it say "this version is different...please revert to the original version" dont know what this means but i cant figure it out......help?

You know if you install the 1.5 Patch for BF2 included in the patch is a NO-CD play which means you can "PLAY" the game without the disc...

Steam is on mac in april, you can just use that. you make a shortcut the the EXE and it will work. I'm using that steam for mac crossover thing, and doing that to play CSS!

yes steam is available on mac in april but it will not be running through cider it will be a native port to mac meaning no you will not be able to link it to the exe unless it is in for example a cider package so the only way to do what u are saying is run it through crossover like your doing

mac steam will run mac games .app

windows steam will run windows games .exe

so i got everything to work and set up the transgaming and info files. but when I actually start the game, the bf 2 splash screen comes up for a few seconds then says I need to insert the cd. I have tried using a patched .exe file - no luck and even when I put in the real cd it just unmounts it and says i need to put in the cd. Any ideas what's wrong? Do you think it's just my computer?

Hey does multiplayer work for you? Every time I try to join a server it says "Joining Server" then it just goes back to the server list.

i solved the instal issue. and than used no cd patch... coz crossover couldnt see my original dvd on drive.

but i couldnt join any online game. prolly ea games thought im crack user with that no cd stuf. than i tried to set up a single play mode.i joined game. just recived first look of map but couldnt start agin... there where no menu. just 3d graphics and menu sound effects.

still looking for other methods such as you told riping folder from windows.

I had the complete collection DVD, with special forces and the two map packs. The maps work, however, i was wondering how to get the special forces expansion work. Any way to do that?

Also, there's some graphical weirdness, with the shadows. Is that just a video card problem? I had everything on the high detail, and 2x anti-aliasing.

when ishoot the game freezes i know u dont know what to do but do u know what could be the porb graphics cause maybe i was thinking the graphics driver u in the port can be modified to work with tiger...if thats the problem maybe its a script problem could u just tell me what u think the problem is?

most newer cider ports are leopard only what i am thinking is tiger is missing a component to be able to run it properly so your best bet would be snow leopard upgrade (they say you need the $160 Not True) get the $30 upgrade otherwise i dont know what to tell you sorry i cant be of more help but i do not have an intel based tiger i have a g4 with tiger so wont be able to test it and my current macbook is running snow leopard
