It should be banned. The burqa is so terrifying to to see and it scares the hell out of my young children. What is the man or woman (you never know) concealling under the sheet? Firearms explosive? One should be allowed to feel safe walking the streets in Australia. As a woman I find these things very intimidating and frightening. Muslims hate us westerners and islam wants to kill every non muslim wearing a disguise does not help quell the fear muslims give to society.
If your in someone elses country obey the law. If we go to the middle east tourist women have to wear the Burqa by law. So when we go to their country we have to obey their law. So they should obey other countries laws.
Banning it is one thing, enforcing the ban is quite another. It is stupid to even consider banning face veils. The first time anyone is prosecuted, the Government will be forced to back down on human rights grounds and the victory will be for the Muslims. This will confirm in their minds that they were right and we are wrong, It will consolidate their faith and culture and more and more will take up the veil.

@AustraliaProud Yeah, two men in uniform told her she had to buy on or she would've been fined. Maybe it was just the men's costums.
