Do you know why KAZ struggled? Because the previous year he tore a pec doing this same event. He was making sure he did not tear it again by using a different technique which while safer does not give him as much power as well as the fact KAZ was not as strong in that event because of the injury.
Capes was great at field and Highland Games stuff. He brought that kind of athleticism into the strongman game, and competed well against ridiculously powerful opponents like Kaz.

Yeah Kaz and Capes are my 2 favourites too- I believe Kaz was stronger, but Capes was always exceptional at the bar bending.

Look at how Kazmaier struggles with the bar. Geoff Capes was a fantastic athelete, pity he didn't have access to today's training techniques.
