  • that wood law makes no sense to me

  • I BURN 10 CORDS EVERY WINTER

  • Damn man, build a wood shed and get it off the ground.

  • How much does this affect your home insurance?

  • how long did it take to stack all that?

  • brichwood = worthless just saying =/. and you bought your wood. should of let me know we have pastures full of oak and elm ahah thats alot for the wood you paid maybe i should sell the wood i get instead of thrwoing it on our woodpile . sorry for commenting so much on your vids but they are good i like them

  • what type of wood you burning? i live in the woods and people need to know differnt type of wood is used for differnt fires. you want a hot quick fire? dry pine. want a long good fire to have coal on? oak. my personal favorite that i put in my wood burner everyday is elm! it burns hot and fast but for a long time

  • Your city ordinance sounds like an HOA....Geez. Glad we live in the woods, so we can do what the heck we want. I feel for ya when dealing with idiotic "rules" such as how much firewood may be seen on "your" property.

  • just a thought - but if your looking to store that much wood you could always pick up a cheap shed and just throw it in the back of the yard, or against the back of the house. cheap aluminum sheds from home depot are only $299. might be a good idea if you plan on storing for while. if left oustside it will eventually get bugs or rot, and those tarps dont last long in the sunlight.

  • why are you so prepared for when shtf

  • build yourself a small shelter for your wood! :)

  • During teotawaki your neighbors house is a source of firewood too, now I know who's house to raid for firewood should post your supplies

  • you use a gas powered wood splitter right?

  • bugs burn too

  • When I hear about silly city regulations such as you mentioned, I think TEOTWAWKI would be an improvement.

  • to conceal your wood a little more attractive then having a to tarp it build a storage frame and put the wood in as walls then just fill it with all the wood granted it is time consuming but it will make the yard look better then just sectioning off with a tarp.

  • Nice solution to hide your wood.

I have a vid of my wood supply you might like!

  • nice

  • where did you get that screen or what is it call

  • dude a cord of wood is 4'x4'x8' and takes AT LEAST 6 months to cure

  • Splitting is easiest with green wood if you wait until January when the sap has frozen inside the wood. This way it blasts apart really easily. Just a pointer from someone from the Canadian border who grew up burning wood for over 20 years.

  • Cord must be city folk talk cause in the south its a Rick of wood a rick is 4' high 8' long and we dont care what length you cut it as most is cut about 18-21" long

    good video,

  • You dont want to store wood in your house. That is because once the wood heats up to room temp all the criters come alive and go into your house. What ever you bring into the house you need to burn that night!

  • Ill bet your neighbours just love looking at all that tarp....:-)

  • Do u think your city will give you a hard time about your fence? They can be pretty picky about what type of fence you can have up. Love your video. Great job.

  • do you happen to have the dimensions or plans on the 2x4 wood holder there you used in backyard?

  • Why not just put up a slate fence, or have a ton shack and 5 feet tall running along the side of the house and cover it.

  • good vid bud. Unfortunately I think that privacy screen will shred under the winters grasp. I also think you should reconsider sorting wood elsewhere. Lots of bugs, dirt, fire hazard having it inside. But only my opinion, the best of luck to you!

  • Nice stash of firewood Bro.

  • I think your supposed to cut holes in the tarp over the fence to let the wind pass through.

  • What kind of stove is it?

  • when ur thawing the wood the water will drip and get the wood on the bottom wet id burn bottom first then top, then replace the bottom.

  • Lol, never split wood green mate. Wasted energy.

Nice stack though, that'll keep you going a weeks or so. ;)

  • Be careful stacking wood against your house. Termites may infiltrate your homestead.

  • Good example of a bad law - if I were your neighbor, I'd rather look at your firewood than those tarps. Silly law...

  • Lots of SPIDERS I bet!

  • yea the inside wood kinda looks like a fire hazzard and spider nest, but I wish I had the room to something like that, that black fabric is gonna rip to shreads in the storms, the way it is now IMO, its getting cold and wet here in oregon, I really need one more summer to get my yard set up, wonder if we'll get that long? Peace!

  • if you got lots of snow!! shovel snow arround the Perimiter Exterior(bottom, ground) your tarp should last longer i guess lol !! nice video!! ive had a similar set up!! except i had one cord on the balcony more out in the back!! and a boxx full next to the fireplace!! why did we doo this!!! bugs!!! we found that alot of bugs were int he house after we had brought in a shiti load of it!!! just a thought!!!

  • For your inside Wood it is real close to the stove so I would put something flame retardant to put on the end of the shelving unit... when cooking or adding wood sometimes sparks and embers float out and might land on your wood and ignite it, just a safety suggestion. Great vid!

  • Good amount of wood, the Screen fence looks like it will work well to keep the town and neighbors happy. Good luck with heatng for the winter let know how its going. Take care and have a great day.

  • Nice set up. We had something similar in our home. We placed a clear office chair mat under the wood and frame to procet the floor and for easy clean up. Always seemed like the wife and kids got bits of bark every where. Our hearth was tile, but the wood was over the carpet so ended up not rruining the carpet over the long run. Thank you for the video

  • Rules like that are why whenever I get around to buying a house it will be out in the boondocks somewhere.

  • Yeah, most folks advise against storing wood inside the house for many different reasons. So long as it works for you, thats all that matters.

  • I save my bark dry it out and burn it

  • That law seems retarded but half do lol

  • One cord of wood displayed?!? Never heard of such a foolish law. I think I would rather look at that wood that the fence. Whatever floats their boat though I guess.

  • You worried about bugs in the wood

  • @btigtime2 Yes. We had a couple of spiders when we first loaded the house with the wood. We read that on the internets and figured whether we have 1-2 bugs with 10 pieces of wood in our house each day or 5-20 bugs in the house with 1/3 cord of wood in the house - that the net effect is the same number of bugs just spread out.

  • @TheSurvivalSummary when shit kicks thats going to be the least of your worries my friend

  • Better put up a heat sheild to keep the wood from catching on fire

  • you can run coal in that, too. My grandpa also told me how you can bundle like 3 sunday papers together and wrap it tightly- burns just like logs.
