i erase a lot myself too, erasing can actually help a drawing out, mainly with charcoal. I actually think erasing is best in bringing out the midtones or blending values together. He's working sensitively, and it shows in his artwork, thats the kind of art that makes the most emotional impact. keep it up man
but erasing does ruin teh natural texture of the paper making it more likely to rip or deform. and it also makes it harder (for me at least) to blend.
I think it depends on which kind of rubber you using. For this kind of work you kann use a flexible gum, which doesn't harm the paper at all. It looks like he has one of this kind in the vid.
the gum rubs of the top layer of paper causing that area to yellow/darken more over time. if i have to erase i use a gum to dab, not rub. dabbing seems to work fine for me.
im in Awe, I'm flabergasted by your artistic talent I do hope that in the future we'll be given the privledge to see more of your works..Thank you so much for sharing ..
well as seeveebee will tell you it takes a lot for me to express any enthusiasm about stuff lol.But I really like that drawing. I should show her this comment just to prove I am capable of enthusiasm.
it's great :) i was thinking "since it's difficult to change the head tilt in a charcoal drawing, it means he (that would be you) had the correct pose from the start" :) she looks so dear :)
its actually a bit more tilted than it should be by a couple of degrees, i noticed late in the drawing. I tried to fix it by shortening her chin by a smig. Now it's not very noticeable the awkward neck angle. But now i regret not starting over cause now i think the chin is a bit short, and makes her head a bit rounder than it actually is.
*sighs* I REALLY wish you would send this to me. I love it so much! xx

you erase a lot--good use of tones though---could use some more highlights and details on eyes and bridge of nose--but pretty good overall
