Say you have 100 suspected civilians affiliated with terrorism and you lock them up and after some time you find the 1 plotting to do something. Now say you don't have this law and can't do anything about those suspected and that 1 guy cause another 9/11 situation. Now I know it violates our rights and it's a lose-lose situation, but which loss is less? Some falsely detained citizens or some dead citizens?
The definition of a terrorist suspect becomes anyone who has ever voiced their displeasure with our government, and tens of thousands are carted away to prison, never to be heard from again. And your argument on 'DO SOMETHING AND STOP BITCHING" is flawed. The act of expressing your opinion on the NDAA and spreading that over the internet IS DOING SOMETHING to help fight it. It helps educate people about the issue, who then might do the same and talk about it. That is how you fight something, you express your opinion about it and try to convince people. @LemonSaucy In your opinion there is other ways but again if we can't do anything about American citizens suspected of it, that's a problem. I don't think you understand, it's precautionary, hasn't been used since it was signed. It's a "just in case" sort of thing. I would hope the "American zillionaires" would use their money for something more worthwhile say the national debt, people who actually need money, homeless on the streets, charities, etc.

@MaRTiiaNN There are plenty of lawful laws available right now. The police can even temoprarily detain a person if there was some imminent threat. If a person is suspect, get a lawful warrant from a judge to do surveilance etc. etc.

A sheriff could attack his own station and people might have suspected him of something before but couldn't do anything about it without evidence. Now they can. The law was passed and no one in the gov't is doing anything about it and never planned to.

That they couldn't just act if there's only a suspicion before, the gov't needed evidence and now they don't have to wait therefore they are swifter in taking action and can help people more quickly if someone is simply suspected. Again, the law hasn't been used once since it's been passed, it's a "just in case" sort of thing, a safety net if you will, that would allow them to take action against someone suspected of terrorism so as to prevent another 9/11 per-say.

@MaRTiiaNN If such person were highly suspect, warrants can be issued to keep watch on her or him. There are perfectly legitimate laws *already* against conspiracy to commit crime / terrorism etc.
Let's say, though, the person were not guilty of the supcion. Now with NDAA, she or he get's locked up indefinitely, no one is informed of the arrest, and then to cover up, the gov't shoots her or him in the back of the head: all "legal". You don't see the problem?

Alright everyone let's look at the NDAA from a different perspective. Say you have 100 suspected civilians affiliated with terrorism and you lock them up and after some time you find the 1 plotting to do something. Now say you don't have this law and can't do anything about those suspected and that 1 guy cause another 9/11 situation. Now I know it violates our rights and it's a lose-lose situation, but which loss is less? Some falsely detained citizens or some dead citizens?

There also haven't been attacks on American soil in a long time so that's probably why the law was passed. It takes 180 days to become a citizen, so anyone from Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. can be a citizen like you and me in a short 3 months even if they're suspected to be affiliated with terrorism. So you think dead people is better than falsely imprisoned people? Get your ego checked.

I don't think you understand, it's precautionary, hasn't been used since it was signed. It's a "just in case" sort of thing. I would hope the "American zillionaires" would use their money for something more worthwhile say the national debt, people who actually need money, homeless on the streets, charities, etc.

@MaRTiiaNN There are plenty of lawful laws available right now. The police can even temoprarily detain a person if there was some imminent threat. If a person is suspect, get a lawful warrant from a judge to do surveilance etc. etc.

A sheriff could attack his own station and people might have suspected him of something before but couldn't do anything about it without evidence. Now they can. The law was passed and no one in the gov't is doing anything about it and never planned to.

That they couldn't just act if there's only a suspicion before, the gov't needed evidence and now they don't have to wait therefore they are swifter in taking action and can help people more quickly if someone is simply suspected. Again, the law hasn't been used once since it's been passed, it's a "just in case" sort of thing, a safety net if you will, that would allow them to take action against someone suspected of terrorism so as to prevent another 9/11 per-say.

@MaRTiiaNN If such person were highly suspect, warrants can be issued to keep watch on her or him. There are perfectly legitimate laws *already* against conspiracy to commit crime / terrorism etc.
Let's say, though, the person were not guilty of the supcion. Now with NDAA, she or he get's locked up indefinitely, no one is informed of the arrest, and then to cover up, the gov't shoots her or him in the back of the head: all "legal". You don't see the problem?
