actually yeah that would be a working class house but a lot of them are actually apartments and not houses. They are old as well. Their Hill is actually around Federal Hill (Italian, there isn't an Irish Mafia in Providence) and if you go to the Armory you would see the nicer houses on the West side of Providence. There are a lot of three deckers which are more common in New England. They were built for the factory workers. Carpenter St is actually a nicer street in that area.
She sounds like an Irish woman who has been in the States for many many years. She's not going to sound like she just stepped off the boat. She's probably been in Rhode Island for 40-50 years. Accents 'wear-down' after awhile.
@megan2478 I think this series was too smart for most people. Californication lives on while this series has been gone now for three years now. fuck you showtime for canceling this series!
They're still filming over here and I'm surprised, I thought they'd be done within two months. I'm in downtown Providence everyday and I always see the crew filming in the neighborhoods. I saw Jason Isaacs and I'm like, "I love you Jason!" Lol I don't think he heard me tho, it was a drive by yell lol =]
Not a movie, it's a TV show.. Sundays at 10, as it says in the description. Ace stuff, very acurate other than a couple over-the-top "RI" accents. Cool to see Providence on TV though, like you said. I love to see places I've actually BEEN on a show. :D
hey ya know yer right. i'm from lil roadie myself. this show does for us micks what the sopranos does for jersey wops. i got no problem with the accents. they are all superb in the way they talk. you wanna hear a fake ,funny as shit accent? five words chappy...laurence fihburne in mystic river. raise a glass a guiness to you my friend. you got some taste.
