The whole point of having a big immersive screen is the fact that people want to look all around the screen so they can see enemies in a first person shooter coming in from all angles especially from your peripheral. The fact that it gets blurry in this area means the j-dome does not offer full immersion.

You will break the immersion! That´s because if you start to look around you see your normal room again and you are "back" in it.

But don't worry - as soon as you start playing you soon realize that you don't move your head around, but you point the mouse where it requires your attention.

Even if your opinion is honest, it isn't true - it is *all* fucking distorted - just the periperal view. And since it is your peripheral view, it doesn't have to be perfect, just immerse you in the game.

i think for what it is, the price is a bit much? it's just the image being projected in to concave dome isn't it? if it's an actual screen, then fair enough...

also. being able to sit down might prove to be beneficial. i've seen this a few times in conventions, so obviously people won't be sitting down. but for home users, it might be difficult finding a suitable chair or something. i rarely want to play games standing up.

oh! and a sound system! that'd be a nice touch.

Basically any game which shows a 3D-world. But FP(S) games works best, especially in those where you can change the FOV (Field of View).

It's hard to transfer the immersive feeling a jDome gives you, unless you try it yourself, sorry.

I thought it was supposed to give you a some sort of wider view of your enviornment but it just looks awful and unrealistic.

It does give you a wider view of the environment, because we change the field of view from 65 to 125 degrees.

Yes, it looks a bit awkward, but the camera has a different point of view than you, the gamer. When you play, the distortive effects are outside your focus, and the immersive effect will just blow you away.

But don't take my word for it - check out what other people say in our related videos - especially the one from Campus Party - where a guy who has played CoD 4 talks about it.
