These are some of the most perfect lyrics for a song about Dale, Sr. that I could imagine. Great job, dalejrgurl25. Although my email addy doesn't suggest it, I'm a Dale, sr. jr. or anything else dale fan also. My car license plate even carries the #'s 3 & 8 (beginning number for Jr.for Nascar because of his grandpa's #, Ralph Earnhardt.) The song stays in my mind & I'll be singing those words instead of "The Ride" words next time I pick my guitar up. Thanks.
Earnhardt was always a dirty racer. He put Allison in the wall on the last lap of a Bristol night race, and caused plenty of other wrecks in an attempt to win by other means than driving talent. His death caused by a crash brought on by Marlin nudging him is unfortunate, but poetically ironic..
everybody is saying may #3 rest in peace yall really think he's resting? that man is up in Nascar heaven racing with angels the last thing that he is doing is resting haha
I didn't like Dale when I was a little boy, but when I got older I watched him and realized that even though he was on a race trac the guy was giving advice to life with his gift. Set the standard, don't take no crap off no one, and if they persist, teach them a lesson!
I was only four when this happened, but I remember sitting on my grandma's living floor with my aunt cheering for him. My aunt knows a lot about cars and so when he hit the wall I remember her crying and saying that she knew he was gone. I didn't really understand much, I just knew she was really sad and something bad had happened,
I was in second grade when this happened and I remember my mom driving my sister and I to our grandparents because my dad was a mess after that wreck and so was my mom. One of the worst nights of my life. I cry now but I know God got himself a good angel :)
Maybe Dale Senior did not have the most wins or the best record, but that is not why he is a legend. He was a dare devil, a good man, and had a good sense of humor. He had a determination and passion that most cannot compare too. I could care less who has the most wins. Good for you. Dale Senior left an impact on the world uncomparable by most other drivers. A truly wonderful man. We love you Dale!
the first 7 time is the king and sr doesnt even come close to him...200 win and many more as an owner....they make a big fuss over him but people dont say nothing about davey or alan....shoot adam petty kenny irwin jr. those were two young drivers who didnt get to show what they could do ....
R.I.P # 3. The Intimidator lives on, he will never be forgotten. The day he died, I was in my parent's bedroom watching the race with them. I was pretty young, no older than 7 years old. When he crashed, my mom was frantic. When they announced his death, my mom cried, and dad just shook his head. That night we all listened to "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd in his honour.
I never met the MAN but when I get on the track ever-one always ask's me If you don't win HOW MUCH WILL IT COAST ME? He is in my blood ,don't ask how or why He just is. THE LOVE SHITNUGGET
this is my dads account..we're watchin some old dale sr vids n while i know i was too young to actually know or see sr race..after watchin vids of him race and hearing stories from my dad that sr rocks...and jrs day is comin
let the yankees bad talk dale sr.let em talk too much shit on the drivers. i cant stand seein kyle busch or jimmie win but i respect all of em for goin out there every weekend for a livin drivin for what could be their last time (God forbid that happen again). if yer a true NASCAR fan you'll respect all legends, all drivers, and all new drivers.talk trash for fun but remember they're all normal people not lookin for a simple paycheck.they love all the fans and for that reason is why i love nascar
nascar said that noone car the black and white number 3 but come on now if jr wanted to he counld and jr said he does not want to because the shoe are to big to fill
Will Always Remember Dale Sr. He was awesome and a great man... his Anniversary is Coming up Soon...Can't believe it will 10 yrs since his passing...Gone but Never Forgotten <3 <3..
actually one he dosent want to because its HIS DADDY'S NUMBER. also Richard owns the rights to the number 3, so being Jr is with Hendrick he has no access to the number to begin with. and its very well know in NASCAR as a gentlemans agremeent that NOBODY will ever drive a black and white #3 ever again.
He was simpley "The Man", He was one of us and never forgot where he came from. I wish i could have saw him race in person, my 1st race was 2001 Fall Rockingham race, 9months too late.
@bmarcum75 u need to shut up right now i know dale jr. isn't doing good but dale sr. won every race u can think of and even if u think he sucked how dare u speak ill of the dead
On that day we lost the greatest part of NASCAR. Dale was the best of the best and a class act on top of it all. He is missed but will never be forgotten.
theres strikes 1, 2, and 3 dick fuck. i got a nother idea, why dont you go fuck kyle bush or something. i fuckin HATE yankees so just fuck off dude! dont talk shit about dale im pretty damn sure you wouldnt tell hem what ur tellin me cause he could kick your stupid yankee ass
Dale is and always will be awesome! A very great posting, thanks! Five stars *****
I have Dal's #3 hat hanging from an Elk Rack in my living room and I take it out on hikes every so often. I have him on film and video too...he is a good example of a great person and a compassionate yet competitive racer!

2001 was a bad year for the U.S.
I was only 5 but i remember it well.
We were all watching the race at my dads parents house and I had some how fallen asleep and i remember waking up to people sobbing
My whole family Was a complete wreck.
My mom, my dad, my grandma and grandpa.
I know i am only a 15 year old girl but that man still inspires me so much.
We all miss you No. 3
