Didn't Muta invent the Shining Wizard & Moonsault? Either way, he is a much appreciated legend and talented man. I love all the various ways he can strike his knee to someone. Better then Orton's RKO. Muta has always been greater then even most talent today, considering the age he is at now. And he is the reason I got into Jap wrestling. Thank you Muto for keeping wrestling alive and strong!
i would like to see a wwe "sports entertainment superstar" try to hang with this man in a 1hr iron man match. i've always felt that american promoters were afraid of mutoh/muta. as either character he can destroy 95% of any major promotion's roster
@bladestormviking Big Daddy Voodoo, Charlie Haas, Rene Dupree are ex-WWE guys that are currently in All Japan's scene and they tangled with Muto and got positive feedback. Giant Bernard is in New Japan being a tag champion and the proverbial regular monster foreigner
@bladestormviking im sure there are plenty of them who could. just become they work for the biggest stage in the world, doesn't make them any less the athlete than someone like muto. lots of great wrestlers have passed through the wwe and lots are still there. if muto went to the wwe tomorrow, would you think less of him? if so, thats too bad!
Eat, Pray, Love, Muto !! Keiji has been in my top 3 since 1988. I have watched him since his 1st WCW run and nobody has ever lived up to him in the ring, He is a master at ring psychology.... Every move he does has a purpose..not one wasted move. Why WWE never acknowledges hi is beyond me...but then again, he would make any of them look like poo!
@kyotanahashi, I believe you are correct, however, the capacity in which they wanted him was never determined. Good choice on his behalf to not go. Funny thing is when WWE went to Japan some years ago...Muto actually sat ringside with Kojima and they did acknowledge him...silly me.
Whoa! Japanese wrestleing is cool and realy fun 2 wach, but here in the goog ole USA, we don't have crap wrestleing either! Sure,it lacks in some ways, but it surely isn't crap

Keiji Mutoh's a legend seeing as he can put guys like Tanahashi and Nakamura over almost without effort, all while spreading the Pro-Wres-Love wherever he goes, but with moonsaults, enzuiguris, shining wizards etc.
he was making a prayer before he enters the arena. Most of the japanese wrestlers would make this prayer to ask the Kami (gods) to watch over their back before the match starts.
The Great Muta... My idol... The Perfect Wrestler. You don't need 30 minutes with a mic to be one of the most charismatic wrestlers of all times, Keiji Muto is the living, breathing proof.
I love how Mutoh is slow and methodical when walking around the ring and sizing up his opponent, but then he just explodes out of nowhere and does some of the fastest moves you've ever seen.
One Day I would love goto Japan and see this in person. I wish WWE would go after these wrestlers but I know its tough for them sell in the USA. These guys are better wrestlers then the talents in the WWE and TNA!
with this IWGP title reign, Mutoh proved once more that he is one of the best wrestlers of all time, taking bad punishment from his oponents, giving the punishment back and showing his great wisdom on the rings
棚橋は頑張ってるんだけど、下手に天才って煽りにしちゃったから武藤と比べられて可哀想なんだよな。秀才であって天才では無いのに。

@joeyjordisonv2 Keh-ee-jee Moo-tow. But the first two syllables (Keh-ee) in "Keiji" are sad fast.

@Gr8muta actually, the WWE wanted to get him but Muto is afraid of what they'll do to the Great Muta character so Muto backed out

@kyotanahashi You can't blame him. Muta worked his ass off to make a name for himself. The WWE would have killed it in a matter of months.

@kyotanahashi
pretty glad he didnt go to wwe...
they dont have a good record in promoting jap wrestler...
he did a right choice to stay in a place where he is much more appreciated.
